Code P0128
2019 camaro with mileage at 37,750 it all started this pass Tuesday temperature gauge not registering even switching over to the digital read out ---- nothing cooling fans running at high when car is running when off the fan runs low for 10 minutes then turns off also no a/c with a check engine light. Dealership has confirmed the code as a bad thermostat stuck in the open position have extended warranty but was told by the service manager that this will fall under the power train warranty so I won't have to pay out my $100 deductible but was taken aback that this was going to be a 3 and half to 4 hour repair.

Stuck thermostat is relatively common problem reported here. Nice that the dealer is covering it under powertrain. Might be nice if you could post your receipt so others can see how the dealer wrote it up.
Based on other DIY threads I've seen here, 3.5-4.0 hrs sounds overly generous. Seems to be a pretty simple job. But, hey, not your money! |

His profile says he has an RS, so if it's the LGX it's not a simple job, IIRC.

The repair took a total of 2 and half hours and it was covered under GMs power train warranty so fortunately for me I didn't have to ditch out $100 to have my extended warranty cover it. The repairs where made on my 2019 V6 rs camaro with 35,760 miles what I am finding out that this is a major issue with the 6th gen camaro and that the self doers make one mistake I was told by the mechanic you need to replace the intake manifold gasket with a new one they are not reusable and reusing them can cause codes or manifold leaks.

Whether it be from the radiator fan blasting at full or your AC blowing engine bay air at you (the worst since everything gets real sticky in the cabin)
