Mmr z-28 replica rims

Greetings ladies and gents!
I have ordered a 21 2SS vert. As we all know they are summer only tire so I like most want another set of off season wheels. I like the mmr z replica. What I don’t want are spacers or longer studs . I’m good with a staggered set. I know the SS is 8.5 wide in the front and 9.5 wide in the back. They only come in 9,10 and 11 inch widths. Anybody running these on there Ss? What size tire? I do have magnetic ride control on the car. I’m a firm believer in keeping it simple and I only want to buy once with no mistakes and no rubbing. Any and all help welcome! Thanks I’m advance

You shouldn't have anything but a straight bolt on experience with a 9 and 10" wheel in that Z replica, that half inch isn't going to change much of anything. Just go up that 1/2" on the wheel, those stock size tires will mount up just fine.

Same with the 11" size. I ran 10" front and 11" rear (SS 1LE / ZL1 sizes basically) when I had a 1SS and they were a direct bolt-in fit with no issues.

I’ll be getting new tires as well so not so worried if the factory tires will fit. Anybody have a good idea on tire size? Without them rubbing.

Bout as wide as you can go is 305/30 and 285/30 on 10 and 11" wheels respectively which are OE 1LE and ZL1 sizes and offsets. In most instances wider or taller than those you'll have rub issues and need spacers (or different offsets). A 305/35 for instance needs a wiring harness moved in the rear to not rub or risk rubbing.

I did see a review somewhere that says the valve stem hits the ears on the caliper. Anybody?

link? Specifics? I've not read that on this forum but I don't read through the non OE aggressive stuff people try to put on the car.

I'm running MRR wheels in 20X10 and 20X11 with 285/30/20 and 305/30/20 without any problems. I also have the 1LE brakes on the front and no issue at all.

I never had an issue like that unless the brake design wildly changed (which I seriously doubt). Maybe someone was talking about 19s?

Side note, I will say the TPMS is a pain to learn due to where MRR has them mounted. If you have the opportunity to program those before putting tires on the wheels I'd suggest doing it that way.

Amazon is where I saw the review. Someone from mmr PMed me about the issue with the ears on the old pads being an issue but I was assured it’s a non issue. So 10 on the front 11 on the back is fine with magnetic ride control ? No rubbing issues on 1le spec offset and tires ? Thank you for all your help guys! Hate to sound stupid and old but I remember when 15 inch rims were all the rage!!!lol so pardon my ignorance.

Nope, they should bolt right up if you do any of the available sizes. No issues with MR, no clearance issues. ABS/TC/ESC are all OK. Speedo will probably be slightly off but not by that much (I didn't find a need to reprogram or anything like that).

You'll need new lug nuts since the MRR bores are too small to fit the OE lug nuts. Thread is M14 x 1.5, and I believe any of the Gorilla tapered/conical lug nuts are all small enough in diameter to fit. Others will likely fit but that's the first brand that comes to mind. Can't think of anything else that hasn't already been covered!

Those M228's will look great on your Camaro, I have them on my 5th gen. 20x10 +23 front and 20x11 +43 rears which is what all the Z28's, ZL1's and 1LE's are running, 5th gen and 6th gen. Did some research for a friend of mine and found all that out. Running 275/35 front and 315/35 rears. Oh and the issue with the valve stems hitting the calipers, it was the pads with the "skate wheels". Ground them off and no problem.
