Motors have a feel, and a V8 has a feel that the best V6 in the world could never match. It's the way the torque curve is shaped, the pulsations of the motor and the glorious sound. 8 cylinders are necessary to get that identity.
Could not have said it better

Turbo lag is pretty irrelevant with twin turbos... If you look at any of the LF3 dyno graphs, even stock they make over 300ftlbs just over 2000rpms. That's almost twice the power of an L99 at the same rpm range, stock for stock. And that's bad engine response? lol

How would you like over 300ftlbs from idle. The LT1 makes as much or more torque as a 427 LS7 7.0 below 4k RPM. A LF3 for a mid level 6th gen priced below a SS would be great but its no LT1. What they need to do is bring back the Buick Grand National. That would be a great fit.

This last pic is really interesting because its a stock C7 vs a stock CTS-V. Both were done on the same day and dyno. The LT1 almost makes as much power as the LSA.
