A Second Camaro GT4.R to Race in US
Some cool news for Camaro racing:
http://sportscar365.com/world-challe...o-camaro-gt4s/ I always wondered what happened to the Stevenson car (which it appears they had two, the main race car and a back up). The Robinson car is a new car, chassis 007, meaning at least seven (7) of these have been made: -Stevenson/“Ex-Stevenson”: 2 cars -Blackdog: 2 cars -Robinson: 1 car That’s five (5) accounted for cars. I wonder where the other two (chassis 005 and 006?) are? Also, FYI, the Camaro is the most expensive GT4 car to get in to. |

Yup. I believe Stevenson was worn out financially and physically from running professional race teams going into the 2017 season with the IMSA car. When he passed away, that just accelerated everything as I’m pretty sure they planned to at least finish out the 2017 season.

Robinson is running two (2) cars, not just one (1):
http://files.world-challenge.com/eve...-EntryList.pdf So, there will be three (3) GTS Camaro GT4.R's and the one GTS-A Camaro GT.4R. Anyone going to the Road America race this weekend? |

They should do like Ford just factory team join in Conti series and hiring their Nascar drivers to their drivers. I miss team of Stevenson too.

The Robinson team is pretty decent. They've done pretty decent so far in PWC with the AMG they were running; did really well at CTMP! So, hopefully they can give Blackdog and the other guys a run!

The conti series (GT4) is a non factory based race team series that only allows the drivers to be factory backed but not the teams.

I thought Multimatic was classified as a factory team.

The way GT4 works is that you have to have a car that is largely based on a road-going car that is mass-sold to the public. The race car is to be, typically, produced off the assembly line, like the road-going car, and ultimately finished/modified and sold by a professional race shop (i.e. Multimatic or Pratt & Miller). The team can be some-what factory backed, from what I understand, but not directly backed (i.e. the Mustang GT4 in IMSA is backed by Ford Performance but not Ford Motor Company).
