I don't have a ZL1 but I had GMPP on my old C6 Corvette and I can't see any reason I'd cheap out on a third party warranty. I had gotten the price through Dennis Fitchner and the Chevrolet dealer matched it (my Z06 was 3 years old at the time).

Through the years I made a few claims and it was handled just like a new GM warranty: the dealer did the repairs with no drama or weirdness.

Does the GMEPP cover the shocks on the magnetic ride suspension for the 2SS 1LE's? Ive never had that kind of system before and arent they expensive?

Yeah I've read that on the GM website. My question comes from that some warranties consider shocks a maintenance item like brake pads because they wear out. Does the GM warranty do that or since they are part of the magnetic ride control are they covered?

All warranties are different. GM's doesn't cover the speakers but another one I've seen does.

Should be covered on the platinum level plan as it calls out "Ride Control Suspension" as a covered item.

If you pull up a sample contract off of the Chevy site and read through the excluded items, there is nothing explicitly disallowing their coverage. Additionally, I do not believe there is a specific "maintenance interval" for them for replacement, so that should not be a limiting factor.

Interestingly, the extended warranty DOES explicitly state that convertible tops and convertible top mechanisms are NOT COVERED. This means that the rear window would almost certainly not be covered for delamination as well.

I didn't think about looking at the maintenance intervals thanks, extended warranties are funny things about what is and isn't. Its kind of a headache.

Just some info on this GMEPP warranty: This is not underwritten by GM. In fact GM does not underwrite any extended warranties anymore, except the one that can only be purchased when buying the car new. I was a bit surprised and disappointed by this, and wonder if other car companies are now doing this too. The GMEPP is affiliated with GM, but not underwritten. Just thought I'd share this for those who might be interested

Would this affect the dealer doing the work or accepting the warranty?

You mean compared to having a warranty that is truly underwritten by GM? If so, then that's really the million dollar question. Just like anything, a manufacturer who underwrites their own policy is usually less likely to have possible issues, hassle, etc. Know what I mean?

My understanding is that this is "simply" a different administrator owns the warranty. The end result is that GM doesn't put any of their costs into administration, and they likely don't have final say in whether something is covered. Once a claim is submitted and approved, though, it shouldn't be any different.

Picked up my 2022 LT1 last Saturday. Dealer is offering a 7-year, 100k warranty through Zurich for $3,157. I had a bad experience with a third party warranty on a Corvette I purchased in Las Vegas. I moved to Denver and the Chevy dealer wouldn’t accept it. Anyone ever had a warranty through Zurich?

"Warranty" is essentially another name for "Insurance." If a provider (mechanic, dealer, doctor, etc.) doesn't directly accept the insurance, there should be a mechanism whereby you submit receipts to the carrier for reimbursement. The biggest potential risk with any mechanic not taking the coverage directly is that they may not charge within the bounds of what the policy will cover (which may have a LOT to do with why they won't honor the policy directly).
