2023 noise

My 2023 top creeks when it is going up or down. Sounds like it is coming from the rear drivers side. Any of you guys have noise from your top?

The noise is coming from the drivers side spring loaded cover door

There are a few moving parts that could make noise: rubber window seals, the tension cables, the steel linkage, and the sliding panels.

When I replaced my sliding panels, the slides on both new (and the half of the one remaining that wasn't completely broken) were silent. YMMV.

A bit of silicone lube on the rubber seals might help a bit, but IMO most of it is the tension cables.

My experience is that the plastic flapper panels creak when hot (in sun and warm out).

The design isn’t all that great…. The plastic softens and they flex sideways as the moveable plastic piece slides forward and backward.

I think there is a spring loaded piston that pushes the plastic cover shut. I listened to it when I opened it with the remote.

No piston. There's a coil spring (flat metal coil) about 2cm across and 2cm dia that pulls the door closed. The operation is nearly silent (-60dB at most) and certainly not audible on my car when the top is in operation with the hydraulics and creaking of the cables/rubber/linkage. Fortunately the issue was fixed prior to 2023 so OP will likely never experience the joy of having to replace the panels.

If you want all the gory details, see this thread.
