Maybe crawl through the back and grab the emergency latch pull.

crawl through the back and release the latch, press really hard pushing the trunk upwards. if your doors are locked then make sure you open the key fob and take out the key, you'll see a key hole where the key goes under the door handle.

I have a funny feeling this will happen to me someday. I will NOT fit through the pass through.

Then you must make little ones. I have several kids that will fit just fine.

Why not disconnect the battery from under the hood?

If I’m not mistaken, the positive and negative battery connection come straight from the battery in the trunk.
please correct me if I am wrong.

Some of the guys are asleep or punking you...LOL

Just connect a battery jump pack or charger to the post under the hood, the car will come back to life and you can use your remote or the button under the bumper...

Yes, You're just putting 12VDC on the system which will power up the car's electronics. Don't try and start it just pop the trunk lock. It will not hurt anything.

There is a positive post by the fuse block (covered by a red cap) and ground post under the hood on the passenger side.

I feel like crawling back through seat and opening the trunk is easier than hooking up jumper cables.

I always found it uncomfortable to climb through that back section so I made a tool to open the door. Just go cut a broomstick and at the end, tape on a hook cut from a coat hanger, Ducttape a flashlight to the end, stick it through, and pull back, works perfect.

The line to the rear fuse box will still be connected when you disconnect the line under the hood.

Thread resurrection, for future reference.

I had to disconnect the battery on my ZL1 because I was leaving for a trip. So I tied a cord on the emergency latch pull inside the trunk, I dropped the rear seats (yes, they drop in the ZL1) and when I return, all I have to do is simply pull the cord to open the trunk.
