If your SS is a manual with everything bone stock inc tires, I will challenge you on the street from a dig to 60 MPH, you will be surprised how long before you pull me by a car length.

I'd like to see that 66 Chevelle

Just posting some factory specs that comes in the brochure that you might just want to think about here if all is factory and on the same playing field.

Camaro V6 Coupe 0-60 5.2 seconds Manual 1/4 mile 13.7 seconds
Camaro V8 SS Coupe 0-60 4.3 seconds Manual 1/4 mile 12.5 Seconds

Over a second on a race track is a long time. It would be fun to watch.

After seeing it in person, can someone remind me why it has 160 on the dash?? I know the motor is not de-tuned but I forgot the reason behind even though it has the 1LT shell and not track performance oriented. I think the car is alright looking too much plastic in the front for me I will stick to the original 6th gen.

I'm guessing here but with the LT1 being more the street only version, no aero package, less cooling and I think all-season tires vs. summer tires they most likely did an electronic speed limiter to 155mph

You also need to drive one, I have had C5, C6, and 2 C7 corvettes, the V6 manual 6th gen Camaro is far from boring. At 3400 lbs, 335 horses, aggressive trans gears with a 3.29 rear gear, it will hang with a manual SS to 60 from a dead start.

I had a 5th gEN V6 Manual. 1st and 2nd pull pretty good, not much left in real pull at 3rd gear because the 6s are low on torque. They depend on low gearing to pull you. I now have 6th gen manual SS. The SS is a whole new level of performance. 0-60 is low 4s. The V6 was low 6s. TheV6 was a fun car but the SS is just a no nonsense all out performer in stock trim.

The V6 cars were very low 5.1 cars to 60. The SS is a different car with the 455 horse torque rich LT1. Gotta be a wonderful car. I have my base manual 2015 stingray to cure that itch. BtW, one cannot really compare a lt v6 manual 5th gen to a 6th gen V6 car.

I never drove a 6th gen V6 Manual but I drove the Auto. Seemed it had more top end than low end grunt. Seemed to not pull until the top of 1st or the bottom of second. Seemed more high stung I guess because they are a lot lighter than the 5th gen. One thing I didn't like about my V6 was I could feel a performance hit with the AC on or with each additional passenger. If I had 1 or more passengers then I may as well had to drive it like a regular car because the performance level was decreased.

Seems like this is all to familiar.
I remember laughing in disbelief when people said that they saw 'IROC-Z' headlights back when the thing was just a mule.

I would think that the 7th generation would take inspiration from the 1980s camaros a bit, but I am not sure with the hybrid rumors.

The better question is why do you have both a mustang and a camaro in your garage? That's like keeping a cat and a mouse in the same sage.

I'm a car enthusiast. After owning a few Fords, I'll never buy one again. Just because someone doesn't like a Mustang doesn't mean they can't be a car enthusiast.
