I bet it’ll hit 1000 easily.

Be curious to see what is going on that's limiting your rpm.
Budget? Rebuild? Hell no, I’m not prepared for that. Thats like wishing it to happen. If you stay completely broke, it’ll last forever. So I got that covered.

Its not rpm limited. Its speed. 156mph and the rpm starts bouncing while speed drops, but once it speed drops enough, rpms may go above 6700, but by that time boost has shut down and gone home.

I think i found it already, but let Ted check it in the AM.

Damn Micha! Great power! It makes enough tq to make it very manageable on the street. I bet it pulls like a freight train up top.

lol it does. Ive been driving it like this, working on the tune with Ted for a couple weeks, and shit is scary quick. Hard to collect data above 6000rpms.

He'll probably make a final adjustment from the dyno logs and we'll be done.
Sucks about the limiter tho. Would have been nice to crack 950. lol Guess we'll never know...

Easy to check whether it's speed or rpm related. Run in a lower gear...does it rev ?

Do cars over there have speed limiters to 155 like a lot of European cars have ? Usually just software.

Ted Jannetty tuned.

I was expecting to see 20.5psi at 7300 rpms, however due to some complications, the car would not rev past 6400rpm (or 156mph). This could be a mechanical issue, or tune related. We will soon find out.

Either way, at 6400rpm it made 18.1psi and 913whp/787tq on the first pull.
Second pull made the same exact power, but again, couldnt pass 156mph.

Ted did a remarkable job re-tuning the car and showing me my mechanical shortcomings. For example the car desperately needed a second surge valve. It behaves much better with the ability to discharge all that excess air instead of forcing it into the engine while you're trying to idle, or slow down.
Also with my feedback, we were able to adjust the Base Running Airflow, or airflow min table (and others) to make my car drive so much better. The 110 cam, heavy duty clutch and big blower dont make it easy to crawl around parking lots. Huge improvements there.

I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get to see the full potential of the G3X (again), but at the same time maybe its for the best. After all, it is a SBE with a small cam and beehive spring. The dyno operator said, if we could rev to 7300 and hit 20 psi, 940whp would be very obtainable. I'll have to keep that in mind after the limiter is removed...

I'll save the 90mm pulley for the forged short block...
The speed limiter Likely saved the engine

Possibly, but I'd gamble one full pull to showcase the power output.

Thanks for the latest adjustment and I'll get you some good logs today probably. But like I was saying, dont put too much sauce on it yet. I should have a pile of forged parts accumulating here shortly. Then we'll retune with 90mm and pour on the beans.

I believe they do. 155mph. Limiting has now been turned off.

Anyone care to comment on the torque? I'm thinking the camshaft might be out of place here. It's a 226/236 525/525 110. It's served me well NA and so far boosted, but it's not going into the forged motor. Was leaning towards the BTR Centri cam, or getting something ground custom for perfect street manors.

You are welcome.

Good luck

I have just the cam for you.

JRE rough Idle blower cam.

Micha, I have attached the valve events with your current cam and then with the BTR centri cam. I can email you this spreadsheet to play with numbers if you want it, just text me. Dcr plays a big roll on what fuel you run. May get away with a higher DCR due to the e85. Superchargers run cams with an EVO close to 60 and lower overlap most times. IVC event closer to 43 will give more low end TQ and closer to 50 will take it away. Centri's like exhaust duration just like PD, but mimic the N/A cams rpm range. I am not a cam guru, just enjoy the data and understanding of where a cam profile fits with the setup.

Note* The @.200 values are not in the pictures. Hard to get these with some cam grinds.

Guess no one uses cam profile calculators?
