Quick Jack 5000 on 6Gen

Has anyone used the quick jack 5000 on their gen 6 Camaro? I used it on my gen 5 without a hitch. I am having trouble lining up the jack points with the jack. I suppose i need to get the jack pads to make it usable? any thoughts?

What model do you have? If the regular 5000 BLX and you use it with the existing lift points the car will be way to nose heavy and very unsafe - do not do this!

There are a few options, you can get these extenders (I would verify that they will solve the problem by doing a few measurements first though)

Or you can buy the 5000 EXT frame assemblies

Or you can do what I did and use a dremmel to cut new notches in the underbody. The pinch points extend all the way under the doors & you can lift safely using the new point and the original ones closer to the front wheel. The notches are not visible unless you are under the car

The extenders were not available at the time or I would probably have went that route before cutting the new notches

Thanks for the info. I don't think the 6 total inches will allow it reach the jack points. I didn't know that the pinch points extend. This will help, I may make the small notches you mentioned if it comes to that. I did just purchase the ZL1 add-ons jack pads as well.

I have a 7000 ext, no issue reaching the lift points. The standard length models would be too short. My understanding is the extensions bars make the standard model as long as an ext so it should work

I use mine and have no problems. I use the notches under the door, not the front ones by the wheel.

I re-positioned the quick jack, the wheeled end toward the back tires. It lines up with the pinch weld cut outs you mentioned. I ordered the jack pads to make things easier.

How is the stability. It was mentioned that it would be unstable at these points.

Received the 5000 SLX for Christmas and it's too short to reach the factory recommended lift points. Ordered the extensions on 1/8/18 and I only received 1 (should be a pair) about 2 weeks ago. Since then they have removed them from their website and I received a $70 credit for all the BS they are putting me thru. Still waiting on the second extension.

I have the ZL1 add-on lift points and the QuickJack pinch weld blocks. With everything I have I hope to be at a comfortable place to lift the car once the other extension arrives.

Glad to see it being used on the 6 Gen!

I really want one of these but..... I'm still trying to decide between one of these lifts or a Springfield Armory M1A. I just can't decide.

I'd probably use the lift more but I already have a low profile jack and jack stands...

Well! There's your answer...put the jack and stands on craigslist to earn a deposit towards the M1A!
