While that may be true there are limitations to the physical size of the device that will fit the tray. The S9 plus in question is larger than those dimensions

If your phone supports wireless charging, and can fit on the pad, it should work.

I wonder if someone could make custom rubber mats to accommodate various phone sizes.

My friends iPhone 8 plus charged on the new pad. We had to angle it with the top of the phone in the charging area while the bottom stuck out a bit. Problem is when you drive it’ll most likely shift a bit. Maybe somebody will make a new insert that better holds the larger phones in place.

I just did the wireless charger upgrade last night on my 2018 GMC Canyon and it seems to work really well. My wife's iPhone 8 Plus in an Otterbox case charges even though it does not fit into the charging small cubby sideways as intended. I lay it in front to back and it charges. I will be doing this upgrade to my 2016 Camaro very soon.

Awesome, glad it helped! I got an iPhone Xs Max, and while it doesn’t fit perfectly it charges great and actually doesn’t fall off while I’m driving. Enjoy it.

It may have already been said (not going to read all 6 pages here)

But the latest Iphones do work on the 2019. They tried it on my car at the delivery party.

I have an S8 and S9 and neither fit the tray but both do charge however I have no idea why anyone would ever use this tray in the back. The new infotainment 3 is killer when you're plugged up anyway.
