Guide: 2016 Camaro SS & LT Jack Points & Jack Stand Locations

The 6th Gen has proven to have some weak points you want to avoid jacking the car up from. I learned the hard way even with a wide plate jack on how the 4 point jack points should not be used for single corner lifting.

Check out how I am now successfully lifting my car with jacks and jack stands without any worry of breaking things.

Here are the jacks, the stands, ramps, etc. I use in my garage. They all have a purpose and are useful in there own ways.

Very interesting! So, if you use a 4-point/arm hydraulic lift you would need 4 of these pinch-weld protectors to lift the car or is it only for floor jacks?

Only for floor jacks, you should not need these for a 4 point lift.

It really depends on the size of the pads on the lift. We have 3 lifts at the shop and the pads are a too wide for the cut-outs. If we didn't use something, they would squish my car! We made our own protectors out of some super-strut we had laying around.

Not all lifts have the same pads, just check, then double check, that when positioned, they aren't going to hit the rockers before getting to the recessed pinch welds.

Sorry to say, you can only use the front pinch weld jacking point on the verts!
The one back little for your jack stand has the cross brace bolted to it. Also you can't get to the center jacking point in the rear because of the rear cross braces! At least we get to go topless!

Did anyone figure out if the front center jack point can be used without removing the plate that covers it? I would rather not use the pinch welds if possible.
Thanks for the great video! I feel confident if the pinch welds are the only option in the front,

Nicely done guide, sir.

Seems way to stressful to get the car in the air for basic stuff.

so a 4 post lift do I have to lift the smaller feet up onto the pinch points ? not that I don't know how to use a hoist I just want to make sure I don't crunch anything

and I shouldn't need 4 of those little pinch point things correct?
side note

the hoist is occupied by a 78 280z in the resto works

Hey Sledge,
quick question - how are you putting the magpad on the rear pinch weld? I find the black plastic strip there interfering with the magpad, if I force the magpad then it is not sitting straight and am afraid will bend the pinch weld.

Anyone else noticed it? Problem only with the rear, front one is ok.
