Not a rookie question at all..
All vehicles are subject to a Build Verification..
some - as convertibles, are more extensive.
Chevrolet will not release a vehicle until they are
completed with the process.

4B00 Status = Final QC is performed, along with
scheduling available transport.
4B00 also designates "parked".

Auto sales are up for all manufactures...
and there are only a certain number
of trains and carriers available.
That is the largest reason for sitting...

In Theory ...
......I am only 90 miles from the
plant...and get a larger volume, meaning
there is enough for a full carrier.
But there still, has to be an available carrier.

I've been here plenty - it's an easy run to make."

Canceled my previous '16 order (stuck at 1100 ). That dealer didn't get any Vert allocations and currently doesn't have any. Doesn't know when/if they'll be getting any. Has plenty of coupe allocations...

Placed an order with a different dealer (bit further away). At the time they didn't have any pricing in Workbench for the 2017s but the appropriate options were there (at least what I wanted). They also don't currently have any Vert allocations, but they have 3 "in transit". I like my odds already.

Did get a preliminary order number so I'm hoping I'm at least in the queue. With the foot of snow we got today my mood is more in line with waiting until August or later for delivery.
