brake screeching sound

Every time I brake theres this loud screeching sounds coming from them. I believe its from the right side but cant pinpoint which wheel. Anyways I got my tires replaces about a month ago and had them check the breaks. They said they were at a little bit above 50%.

Any suggestions?

Is it not under warranty? If yes, let the dealer solve it.

Dealer said 50% - did you check it? There are little tabs that will contact the rotor when the pads wear down to a certain point. But that's usually an annoying chirping noise at the start. Take a look and it will probably be easily seen.

If it isn't the wear indicator, perhaps something got stuck between one of the pads and the rotor?

It was done at a tireshop (Tirechoice) not dealer. Car just hit 14,500.00 so warranty is done.

Mine squeal from time to time. Have you been to any racing events?

This wouldn't been covered under warranty because brake pads are a fair and wear item.

These OEM pads will squeal as the pads wear down. I'd give the brakes a good hard stop from 20 or so and the noise should go away. For a while.

I did do about 10 runs at a drag strip

Will give it a try.

That would suck.

Mine will do it occasionally when I first start driving it for a few stops then goes away.

The TSB says to replace the rotors.
