Would be pretty cool if we just discovered the ultimate budget bolt on for the lt1. The msd isnt cheap and l86 intake is dirt cheap.

Yeah it's cheap enough to try. I'm worried about how it is at 6500rpm. Maybe porting can change that.

Oh, that’s perfectly fine. I think that if it fits, it would be beneficial to port it before I threw it on my setup. Do you know what throttle bodies it can accept? If the 95mm fits on it, that’s even better.

From what I've seen they run the same 87mm throttle body so same rules apply to it as the stock lt1 intake

Edit: wanted to make clear that the 95 will fit after modifying the TB or using an adapter.

The guy in that thread I posted said he’s taking his msd off and throwing on a ported l86 intake and 95mm TB, so I’d assume so

No the L86 will not accept the 95 in stock form.

I’m having a rough time seeing where you put the measuring tape on the engine. Is that bolt one of the valve cover bolts? Our hardware is different and throwing me

I can take measurements on Monday as my intake is still in the box and doesn't have the upper cover/insulation on it either.

Beautiful, I have a extra LT1 manifold on the bench here as well so we can get some good dimensions

cam and ported heads are NOT boltons. converter technically would not be either... So if read that as bolt to long block (heads, block, cam, oilpan), I guess even the converter would be a bolt on, so would be a supercharger but we consider a supercharge a FI piece like N0X.

intake, headers, CAI, TB, exhaust hood scoop, tune would all fall outside of factory long block.

I really like the way the manifold looks, but the long runners will hamper resonate efficiency on the top end. So anything bigger then stock cam I can't see it.

I must have dreamed it LOL

So for a Procharger, would this and a stock TB be an optimal setup, the long runner will boost the mid range torque, and the Procharger can put out more boost on the top end then the factory engine can take...

Do both have the same supporting mods. Looks like the red has flex fuel and headers according to the legend.
