9.77@142(PB) at the Camaro Fest (video 9.84 pass)
So got to the Fest for the first pass on Friday morning, car felt sluggish and would only run high 10's. Mike (toohighpsi) was there to tune my car. Logs looked great but down on power and we had this same issue on the dyno a couple days before that, just felt like it was dead compared to earlier pulls with the old blower. So after trying all day Mike decided it had to be the high flow cats. He was right as we cut them off found they were full of crap so he dumped all that out we used 4" band clamps to put it back together, took a little time to build a new tune but he got it done. First pass it hit the rev limiter and that's the reason why the logs are so important because it felt like just shut down. First full pass was 9.84@143 then two 9.77 passes at almost 143. Temps were horrible in the low 90s and DA was in the mid 3000's. Had fun and met a lot of people and looks like we have a bunch of new 2650 customers stepping up. Billy Langshan was also there with his 2650 Zl1 and he ran in the low 9.80's, neither car has been on the dyno with full power, his was tuned on the street and still ran awesome. Pretty impressed and if I'd had 68 degrees and DA of 500 when I ran 9.83 with my old 2300 I could have probably ran in the 9.50's but I didn't. Still happy with more power to come.

Congrats on new PB, that thing is gonna rip when you get some cooler weather.
I still think you are 'brave' drag racing on stock SS axles with this much power/torque though. |

I went back to slicks and we pulled timing down low to keep it safe. I'm only running 13-14 lbs of boost so we haven't pushed it yet. We didn't have any smaller pulleys built yet so I'm either going to have griptec build one or go to an ATI lower pulley. I'm going to get axles once I sell my 2300 Heartbeat, plus an ice box. We were seeing pretty low IAT's but they can always be lower. When the staging lane lines are long you end up with pretty high IAT's when you leave the line and low at the end of the track. Ice box will take care of that.

So last year I was in mid pack in unlimited at 10.15, but we pulled timing to keep from breaking the motor (which I still did) and still ended up in 7th on the ladder with 10.29. This year I qualified 8th with 9.77 so there were some killer rides there this year. Several 8 second cars and a lot of mid to high 9 second Camaro's in Super Mod and Unlimited. My goal is to make some 9.40 passes this year and I'll be able to do that if the car will hook. I'm still ok on fuel with race gas so a pulley change and good air will make it happen.

Don't know, we tried to dyno it and couldn't figure out why it was down on power. Went ahead and took it to the track so Mike could tune it there. I'm guess in 850 RW. Hopefully I'll get to do that since its pretty close on the tune, but I want to wait so I can get the other 75mm pulley so I can change it on the dyno to compare number. I'm not going to see any good air till possibly the LS Fest but its usually pretty warm in the low 80's and not low 90's like we had last weekend. I was happy with those ets considering the conditions we were running in.

Nice pass especially considering you just got that installed and haven't had anytime for testing. You got better times coming no doubt.

Thx, my build is pretty mild compared to some so more boost in the future and should be good to go. Not trying to build an 8 second car as I'm not spending 6k on a fuel system so I'm staying within my current budget.

Congrats!!! I saw the car run at the Fest. What a beast! She will run some serious numbers in better conditions. Those conditions were terrible for running any kind of a decent number.

Big Dave wished you'd come by our booth to chat. Thx and yes they were bad. I'll get a better idea this Friday night as I have some heads up racing with conditions in the mid 80s and DA hopefully below 2000. That would be a vast improvement.
