Dash Noises
Morning Guys,
I've got just under 4000 miles on my 2019 SS Convertible and within the last couple weeks i've really started to notice more noises coming from the dash area (it's like a panel or something is loose or something rattling around but nothing is loose that I can tell). If i'm on smooth roads its okay, as soon as I get onto a less smooth road (city streets) you can definitely hear it. I know its on the drivers side area but man is it annoying on a new car. Has anyone experienced this and would this warrant a trip into the dealer or will they just tell me nothing is wrong it just things "settling" around? Any help appreciated. Thank you |

My car makes all sorts of rattles. For the dash I have found the silver piece surrounding the guage cluster tends to be a common rattle. I either squeeze it together or push on it a bit. I haven't really heard much noise from it since. Every now and then it'll get bad.

My ZL1 has several rattles too but I just attribute it to the 650 hp and leaving it in Sport mode most all the time making the suspension more firm!

I'm employed by a European automobile manufacturer and I can attest that despite European vehicles typically exhibiting above average interior build quality and fit/finish, the vehicles I drive on a daily basis still exhibit numerous interior rattles on less than smooth road surfaces. In fact, I was driving a sedan the other day with approximately 10,000 kilometers and I was shocked at the symphony of interior rattles.

with so much plastic in all cars these days it's no wonder they make different noises as we go thru the seasons.

I have learned to ignore the noises unless it’s one I haven’t heard yet!

Mine makes this weird whining noise every time I get on the throttle. I sure hope it isn’t serious

Start calling her kitty, kitty and her offended growl will crowd out the 1.7L whine

Oh BOY where do you want me to begin?
My door panels rattle when listening to the radio Every time I hit the gas a ghost rattle comes about I hear a subtle whistle when I accelerate (assuming this is because of my CAI) Now there’s this ungodly rattle/squeak I’m trying to track down from the back of my car. Regardless, this car brings me so much joy I’ve learned to accept these imperfections. |
