I have accidentally scratched the door cover/panel on the driver side. is there anyway to repair the scratch or make it less obvious? This is just my second week owning the car

Let me guess, opened the car door with the key extended?

Sorry pal, the only thing you can do is replace the parts.

No, i had a hand rest there and pulled it back so the bottom part of it scratched the panel. I found a shop here that can fix it. I will update this post of this scratch is fixable.

Interested in procedure and results as I’ve got a rub mark from something? T that removed some of the finish on the panel.

If i am not mistaken, the shop will sand the plastic, polish it and then apply a clear coat over it. I will ask them though on what they did to repair it once they are done from it.

It's something locally made that you put on the door to use as a hand rest and has storage space. I threw it away

So i got the scratch fixed. It was a very deep one too.
They wet sanded the scratch and polished it once the scratch was gone.

I attached a photogl after the repair.
Note: the black plastic door trim had another procedure to repair which involves painting.
