LED Bulb Replacement
So, I'd like to replace the side markers and anything else that's not, with LED's (don't think the front turn signals are LED either). I'd like advice on which brand/type is the highest quality and most reliable; also, will the warranty be affected by a simple change like this? Any help appreciated

JW Motorsports, 89.99 shipped, they are very bright, I had one get water in it and they replaced it for me at no charge, I sent the other back, so they are good to go.

I would go with Diode Dynamics for the sidemarkers. I've had mine installed for ~7 months with zero problems. They are more expensive than some of the alternatives, but the alternatives seem to be having far more problems.
Turn signals... I am currently running iJDMTOY LEDs, which supposedly have built in resistors to prevent hyperflashing. I've had them in for a couple weeks with no problems, but I am fully expecting them to fail sooner than I would like. The better solution would be to get high quality turn signal LEDs from someplace like Diode Dynamics, and install a separate resistor for them. Both of these mods are really great, IMO. The side markers are a must have mod, and the super bright turn signals are up there too. As for warranty, these *shouldn't* affect anything. Obviously you won't have GM warranty on any parts you change, but if the dealer gives you crap over something unrelated because you changed sidemarkers, tell them they need to prove there is a connection. All dealers are different, and some are more open to mods, while others are real sticklers and will try to deny any warranty service over the smallest mod. Best bet is to call around locally to find a dealer that is open minded to mods. If you want an absolute 100% guarantee to never have warranty conflicts, then don't mod anything - but thats no fun For me, a big part of this car has been modding it to make it my own. |

I used Sylvania 7440 LEDs For both the front turn signals and the reverse lights.
I have had these bulbs in for over 2 yrs no issues at all. |

Anyone try VLED's? They are a few bucks but look like high quality
