Tire Mark Removal
For those of you that track and like to keep your cars clean. After taking the ZL1 out to the track last weekend it came home with a lot of tire marks. The marks were mostly on the expel film in the nose but some on the paint. I researched for a good way to clean them off. I found this video on You Tube
After watching the video I ordered a bottle of Adams Butter Wax to give it a try. It works like magic on both the film and the paint to take the tire marks off!

WD-40 would have worked too.

I don't think I'd feel good about putting WD40 on my paint or film.

WD is perfectly fine for any paint or film. You need to seal or re-wax, obviously......

I use clay bars to remove them. I heard people also use Mothers racing rubber remover and said it's great. I'll give it a try after next track day

What about removing tire rubber marks from the matte hood (SS/1LE)?
Thanks |

A tar cleaner would be my go-to. Something like Gyeon Tar or CarPro Tar-X. Quick work of rubber.

You're not going to find an effective rubber remover that doesn't also strip away whatever coating you have on the paint.
Mothers R3, then recoat/wax as you see fit. If you want your track car to also be a concours-level show car, be prepared to spend a lot of time after each track day cleaning up the incredible amounts of rubber.
