Angry RPI Designs customer service, etc.,...

So I ordered an ACS spoiler (painted gloss black) about 3 months ago now, received it about a month ago. It has defects in the paint, I'll post pics later, but I can guarantee that no one here would be happy with it.

i contacted them, sent pics, etc., immediately. I got no response.

I started a dispute with paypal. Finally I got a reply, and I asked for a return shipping label (since part is not as advertised, don't think I should have to pay shipping to return it). No more replies...

Now Paypal is saying that the return/credit is approved but pending me uploading proof of shipping it back. Well, again... don't think that is my responsibility. They should arrange pick up on their dime.

Am I being unreasonable here? Or is this another vendor to steer clear of???

It is your right to ask for a shipping label. But check their website about returns, if they clearly note that returns are at your expense, you will have to pay for it.

I don't know the current policy that they have in place. But, last fall I ordered a spoiler and it came with paint worn off both ends due to packaging. I had no issues with contacting them and getting response. They paid for all shipping costs sending it back and the replacement shipped to me.

Not sure if it being an ACS one throws another piece into how its handled or not.

Just my experience, hope things go well for you.

I won’t order from them again. My last experience was with their new tail light covers. Long story short they were offering people free replacement parts after making me purchase a replacement part from them.

I found out soon after, and tried to get in touch with them about reimbursing me for my purchased replacement part for a week. Phone calls unanswered. Messages not returned. Emails not responded to.

But magically, I got a reply AFTER filing a dispute with my cc company. Unacceptable...

They posted a cyber Monday sale a while back and I tried to get info from them about pricing and never got a response. After that I’ll never order from them.

Why order from someone that can’t even bother to answer a question for a potential buyer, can’t even imagine the customer service after they’ve got your money.

Well, looks like I'm stuck with paying for return shipping (not insignificant) since they won't respond to any form of communication (emails to multiple addresses, calls, pm's on this site, etc.).

Pretty pathetic customer service! Not like I changed my mind, etc. - the paint job is just plain unacceptable (imprinted "dimples" from wrapping with foam before it cured, a "sanded" looking area, etc.).

Funny that they advertise their "custom painting" on their website as "We have over 70 years combined Camaro and Corvette painting experience, you won't find better quality anywhere!"

Here are a few examples of the issues -

This is gross indeed. I am surprised, as I ordered several items from them in the past, including a spoiler, and the quality of the finish was near perfect (one little swirl mark that may have even been me during unwrapping). They even gave me live installation help. Sorry to hear you got such a lemon and no response

Send the package COD for the shipping charges. You'll get the tracking number paypal wants and your shipping charges refunded.

I wish it was that easy - paypal's policy is the buyer has to pay the return shipping... I've spoken to paypal about this. They are trying to follow up with RPI since they refuse to talk to me or email me back.

I ordered ACS's deck spoiler from them directly and the whole process went nicely for me. Received mine (unpainted per my order) and ended up having to call them for install help since their instructions showed the convertible spoiler and had SS based instructions. The guy was on the phone with me for like 3 hours until we got it on perfectly.

Though I wish I would've known they were Canada based before I was on the phone with them for that long...
