Windshield Wipers - replacements touching

So went to O'Reilly for my annual wiper replacement. I use the Bosch Icons or whatever is their best ones when I buy them.

The little book and Bosch's website call for 24A and 21B...however the two butt ends touch each other (when at rest) enough that I think it will be a problem (they would hit each other every stroke.).

So I went with 20B for the passenger side and I am fine.

Is anyone else seeing this happen? Maybe it is just the Bosch Icon wipers since they seem the have extra stuff at the ends.

I was always told the high end wipers are a total gimmick. I buy the cheapest ones on the shelf for the passed 20 years and they wipe water just like any other

Nope, not even close. Bosch wipers are the best out there by far, I have tried cheap ones, OEM ones and Bosch, never buy anything else but Bosch. The Icons are great!

I bought the TRICO Beam Flex wipers at Walmart for my Camaro. The top of the drivers side wiper touches the bottom of the passenger side wiper, but only while they are resting at the bottom of the windshield, not in use. During use they do not touch each other and wipe flawlessly, despite the bad reviews on walmart.com.

Yeah one time I went with the el-cheapo stuff you can get from Costco...they didn't even last 4 months before they started streaking. With Bosch, I can go a full year and then some.

I bought 2 damn pairs of the AC Delco OEM wiper blades for my SRX, both pairs didn't even make it 6 months before ripping, one pair the rubber was ripped so bad it was flapping all over the place...went ahead and bought Bosch Icons over a year ago, brand new condition still! The crappy thing is I cheaped out to save a few bucks each time, ended up spending more time and aggravation in the meantime, should have went with Bosch the first go around like my head told me to do.

Yes I had the exact same situation. I was disappointed by the Bosch icons on a recent trip across the country. Everyone says they are the best, but I have better performance on my Ford F250. Maybe its the windshield.

What are using on your windshield? Both are vehicles have very clean windshields and I use Reload on them, then between washes if there are bugs/crap/etc., I clean with a polishing towel and my Ech20/Reload detailer mix.

I have all the latest and greatest products. Windshield was recently polished with glass polish and glass pad and then sealed with Adam's Glass Sealant. I could drive without wipers , the glass is so slick. I just felt like the Bosch Icons didn't fit quite right.

And I also had the problem of the wrong size wipers in the Bosch catalog at O'Reilly.

I like to get new ones every 6 months. I get mine from the dealer for 17 bucks a piece.

I've never used my wipers. Stock are still brand new. Good info here though for when they eventually dryrot.

I have the Bosch icons and they never have worked well for me from the very start. I'm going to try out some different ones this time.
