I used a three jaw puller. Each of three jaws grab the harmonic balancer , the threaded bolt , in the center, pushes against the crank until the balancer is removed.

PieNsky, I saw on a another thread your Camaro has about 280K miles on it. And, you have replaced the time chain(s) a couple of times. That's a lot of miles and shows what you can get out of these engines if maintained well.

Was there any other preventative maintenance you did (other than the time chains) to keep the engine running good? Like the crank bearings or anything else? Thanks.

No, I don't know anyone that works there.

Got it back today. Final bill was 1522.22.

So which one is the updated parts? 12693218 or 12651450? I've seen contradictory web sites saying the 12693218 replaces 12651450 and that the 12651450 replaces the 12693218 (saw both in this thread as well).

They used 12693218 on mine.

Oh shit, good to know. I work right by there lol. I've been getting multiple cylinder misfires errors lately and my normal mechanical "fixed" it for about a month before it came back. Maybe I'll take it there and see if it's the timing chain.

No , and my son doesn't keep an eye on the oil. Maybe I shouldn't have gave him the Camaro.

That should be interesting for you...
I bought a 2010 camaro from an auction in chicago and got it delivered on saturday. In Sofia, Bulgaria, in Eastern Europe
The car arrived with the full set of p008;9;16&17 codes. The camaro is a bit of an exotic here and its hard to get any parts. Im looking for full chain replacement kits online and found those two so far:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/372287969090

https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...753s/overview/

Possibe delivery to Europe is kinda important
I dont see any gaskets in those kits, what might i need besides the included in the kit ?

Try RockAuto here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...iming+set,5756

I believe the kit has everything you need but haven't bought or done mine yet so I'm not 100% sure the kits contain everything you need.

Hi, I have changed the new timing of the Cloyes company. I wonder if the new timing is corrected or simply the engine's design is bad and the timing is indifferent to max 100 000 km?

P0008 @ 59,200 miles $%@#@!!

At 59,200 miles my 2010 RS threw the dreaded P0008 Engine Position System Performance Bank 1 code earlier this week. Today my original selling dealer where all my service has been performed confirmed Timing Chain slack so highly recommends changing for $420 OEM parts and $1,000 labor. That’s not as bad as expected given other posts in this thread.

Granted its 10+ years since my May 2009 delivery but I’ve not manhandled the Camaro (especially as a V6) so disappointed the inevitable happened so soon.

Now deciding whether to pay the piper or move on to something new. It wouldn’t be so hard except for all the mods (1LE Brembos, Cat-back exhaust, Cold Air Inductions kit, Pfadt coil-overs/sway bars/endlinks and a host of others which made her my own... Time to reflect on whether she still gives me “joy” or will a new model whatever strike me...
