I'm looking at doing the front vented pistons when I do my rebuild with the high temp boots.

GM vented pistons kit for 1 caliper (has seals but no boots) 23242510, $118 X 2 = $236 at RockAuto (haven't checked other sources)
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...48436&jsn=6371

RB vented pistons kit BC-42BSP for 2 calipers (has seals and boots) = $316 + $16 for high temp boot
https://www.racingbrake.com/CTS-V-Ca...p/bc-42bsp.htm

The design of the vented pistons are different. Not sure if the GM ones are steel or aluminum

I believe they are steel because there is a little weight to them.

Correction, the RB info shown above is for the complete rear kit. The complete front vented piston kit is here:
https://www.racingbrake.com/CTS-V-Co...p/bc-61bsp.htm

The front high temp boots only are here:
https://www.racingbrake.com/High-Tem.../bc-61dbht.htm

The rear high temp boots only are here:

Another option some people take to improve their SS 1LE brakes is to change to the ZLE brakes. A quick price check of parts for this option totals ~$2600 which could be offset if you sell SS 1LE brakes. I took a ride in a friends SS 1LE with ZLE brakes (stock pads) and I was very impressed. Of course it was aided by the fact he was running slicks.

Good news!!! I just received pics of the revised dust boots in their fitment test, and glad to share with you that they fit perfectly onto the OE calipers! So the parts are being released immediately into expedited production, and they shall have those boots in stock in about 2 weeks or sooner! Here are some pics showing the SS pistons and dust boots (High temp- Blue) installed in OE (4) piston calipers!

:Pics Below:

But will they sell the boot separately for our 6 piston?

Yes, I believe they already have them for the OE 6 pistons ready to go. This thread was those interested in cut stainless pistons and high temp dust boots for the front and rear OE 4 piston set-ups, which were not available.

https://www.racingbrake.com/SearchRe...nsive_Search=Y

Better yet call them direct: (714)-871-6392

Hope this helps!

I just installed the RacingBrake.com "High Temp" front (42x27.5) and rear (30x27.5) caliper rebuild kit(s) that I received back on Feb 7th. I didn't remember to weigh the rear SS piston vs the OEM, but the fronts I weighed: SS 3.1 oz, OEM 3.0 oz (one piston). The SS piston is hallowed out and edge is vented cut, verses OEM being solid. Fitment was top notch. Hardest part with the RacingBrake "High Temp" kit verses OEM was keeping the blue dust seals away from any brake fluid.

FWIW... The blue "high Temp" dust seals didn't really hold up any longer than OEM in my current set-up. Not surprised. I believe another member had posted the same, so it was kinda anticipated. I just didn't have the same experience of my OEM's, pulling into the paddock with smoke rolling out from under the front fenders. The cut SS pistons are doing their job!! lol
