What are the benefits of an electric truck on a farm?

Besides the obvious? Like a lot less maintenance. No exhaust fumes around your livestock or yourself. Easier on the environment all the way around especially on your own property. More storage space. It’d probably pull any diesel 4wd sideways down the street. I’d be alright with a quieter vehicle when I’m hanging fence all day or something like that. Fuel wouldn’t be an issue, it’s easy to build charging stations at the barn or house. A lot of this is common sense.

That mofo is too ugly.

Don't car how well it performs truck and supercar duties, I would not buy it because it looks ridiculous.

Lol at the idiots that sold their tesla stock

If they were only smart enough to do a little math

The $70k truck likely has a 200kwh battery.

Just a few years ago that was a $70k battery.

What this means is tesla has finally figured out a way to massively reduce battery cost. It also means; goodbye internal combustion engine.

Someday...but, someday is a long ways off. Still too much money to be made by the oil people. Think they’re just going to walk away from that?

Its a long ways but this truck is like 3rd round uppercut that put ICE down for an 8 count

Oil companies had their shot, and they tried. Their time to take tesla down was several years ago.

Stating that the oil company’s “had their shot” seems a tad short sighted, imho. They’re far from throwing in the towel, whatever round it might be.

1.) How exactly could an oil company have any influence on what cars car companies build?

2.) Why would the CEO and stockholders of any car company give a flying fluck about the interests of an oil company and what would motivate them to cater to those interests?

Answers:

1.) They couldn't.

2.) There would be no reason nor motivation.

Or they are willing to burn through even more money in the hope that someday they will finally figure out how to be profitable.

Tesla produces crappy cars. Their future, if they have one, is in battery manufacturing and software.

Once the major car companies start going all in on electric vehicles, like it appears Ford is doing, there is no way Tesla can compete. Their only hope is to become the battery supplier.

And... slightly off topic... once the reality of battery production and, ultimately, disposal becomes apparent people will look back at oil as the good old days. Just like...

Butter is bad so eat margarine. Oops, turns out margarine is worse.
Paper bags kill trees so use plastic. Oops, turns out plastic bags kill animals.

Battery production and producing the electricity to charge them is way more environmentally unfriendly than internal combustion engines.
