Loved my e46 m3 and both of my F80s... best combo for dadding/dailying/tracking .... after driving an SS I just loved the drama it offered. On track, the SS1LE is a really confidence inspiring car. Lose a bit on the daily side and definitely the refinement side but they sure are fun. Thinking of adding an M2 or G80 M3 once it’s out for my wife to use as a track car and because I miss some of those attributes of the Ms.

Enjoy the car... I got the ugly one bc I couldn’t wait haha ... ‘19 with the weird grille.

Damn guys so maybe I should just double PPF the whole car LOL jk. Thanks for the recommendations, I'm working on getting some quotes around my area.

Mountain, I have seen the long and extensive E92 M3 savagegeese review and he spends a good amount of time under the suspension. I'd have to rewatch, then lift my car and take a good long look.

evanescent, I had an e46 as well and loved it. And a OG M2 is a good value for an newish M car, for a daily for your wife that is both comfortable and plenty of fun at the track. This 1LE is definitely less refined but it is in a way that I really enjoy, that beastness and rawness.

I just moved to a '19 SS 1LE as my track car after popping my n54 in my e90 track car. Looking forward to more seat time and less paddock wrenching time in the Camaro!

Congrats and enjoy! Superb looking ride! If ya dont mod it you'll enjoy trouble free tracking covered by GM power train warranty for 5 years

The SS 1LE is now the new BMW M 3/4 corner carver w/ a superior chassis, while the new M3/4's are the old Camaro/Mustang muscle car mentality.

They have completely switched roles.

The F80 is really the only generation that is that way. I don't think it's fair to call that a trend just yet, hopefully they'll ditch the numb and garbagey handling characteristics of the F80, which IMO is the worst M3, and get back to form. We'll see.

I won't hold my breath. They are already dumming it down by getting rid of the DCT and putting in a slush box.

As great as torque converters autos have become, they are not as crisp or fast (on the downshift) as a DCT, where the next gear is already there and just needs to be engaged.

The M3/4 is becoming more luxury than canyon carver. And don't even get me started on their shock damping profiles (especially on the rebound stroke), they are horrible. Their tech. used on their adaptive shocks is long over due for an overhaul as well.

There is a rumor of a "pure" or whatever version with MT and RWD... that with a traditional fixed rate steel suspension could actually be the car they allow the engineers to tune for enthusiasts instead of to be seen at the mall...

Congrats on the purchase. I came from BMW world as well. Had my N54 135i for 9 years until I decided it's time to upgrade. After constantly spending money in upgrades and maintenance to properly track 135i, I decided I want a car that comes track ready from factory with warranty. Nothing else fits the bill better than SS 1LE.

I came from an 08 E92 335i with some mods. Got tired of the maintenance. I have a 17 SS 1LE now. I don't miss my BMW at all. After years of BMWs I have no desire to own another one.

I’ve been lurking around here for some time. After tracking my E36 M3 for over 20 years. Just did a deal for a very lightly used ‘19 ZLE. Picking it up tomorrow. I’ve got lots of learning to do if I’m going to be ready to track this thing. The M3 is pretty quick, and I’ve got plenty of experience with what it takes to keep it quick and reliable. The ZL1 will be a new challenge.

Congrats to you guys who just got or are getting one of these SS/ZL1 1LE's !

Almost 4 months strong with mine now, about to do the break-in rear diff and AutoX this coming weekend with my BMWCCA chapter, then a track day within the next month.

While I sometimes miss my last pocket rocket OG M2, this SS 1LE is just in a different stratosphere. I still do events with my track E36 M3, still fun as hell and nice to have the choice depending on which one is ready to go.
