I just checked and the ASI in about 1 inch from the headliner on the inside. I think youll be ok if you pass it though.

Mine is almost 6 inches below the line, but you can clearly see it doesn't impede vision at all, and really isn't much tint. I've never had any problems with a strip like this, even when I'm in a strict state. The strict states seem to mostly be concerned with the entire windshield and the side windows, but proceed at your own risk if you live in one of these states. Luckily, they almost completely disregard windows here. They have laws, but they don't in force them. Knock on wood.
