Lt1 fuel pump lash cap fitment issue

So ordered a .060 lash cap because .080 that come with it way to thick by .030 for preload. So ordered the ls7 one everyone says works on here and other forums. Like they had no problem installing it. Well I cant get the damn thing on. Its diameter isn't wide enough. Anyone else have an issue with this. Any help would be great just ready to be done putting car back together again.

Solved my own problem. Just used some high grit sand paper on a dremel and grinded the walls down on it just a bit. A few light love taps with rubber mallet and it was on and that thing ain't coming off. So not worried of it ever coming off into the engine. Just added note. If u go 32% fuel lobe, stock pump.. just do your self a favor and get .060 lash cap. Part number 12596509.

I as well as many others on this forum and the corvette forum have confirmed running the .080 that texas speed as well as other shops include in their kit is way to thick. Even the .060 was slightly to thick by .010 in my case. Just grinded it down. .010 and now I'm with .001 of good preload. Dont know why these performance shops keep handing out the wrong type.

That's not uncommon. A lot of them are very tight fits and a little sand pa\per gets it done. Nice catch
