Seems like everyone cleared things up. Congrats on the car and enjoy! Good choice of transmission, you'll enjoy shifting through the gears!

When I first took my dad for a spin, he said to me "Are you sure you are shifting right?" I'm like, "Yeah dad, it's just the rev match feature on downshifts..." It was pretty funny he initially thought something was wrong with the car.

I use mine too but not all the time. People think I'm trying to race them when I downshift between gears and the engine revs up when it's turned on. Enjoy your Camaro. It's a helluva musclecar for the money!

Well I finally tried ARM today. Took some getting used to, but it works. I had to force myself to let it handle the throttle.

I wish there was a pedal kit to help with heel toe position, the ARM is awesome but I do miss heel toe from time to time. I can heel toe my old Lexus in steel toe boots and my S2000 was amazing. The Camaro pedals just don't work for me.

That's why I stopped using it. Being catless with straighthrough mufflers it makes a helluva racket revving that fast. So I took to doing it myself so it's a little more subtle and I don't sound like a prick with the way my car is. If it weren't for knowing all the local police I would have been pulled over a few times for it!! Lol. They know me just not the car yet!

I turn it on and after 10 minutes turn it off, get tired of the car reving itself everytime I take it out of gear....

I can rev match myself, but it was nice when driving in California, having to deal with all the traffic and being in unfamiliar territory.

For the manual drivers out there that don't like this feature, don't you blip the throttle when downshifting? If not, what is your technique?

Skippy school taught me double clutching is a cha cha dance.
Clutch in neutral next gear blip Clutch in next gear, clutch out I love the rev match, hate that it's better than me and it makes me lazy. Still, I use it all the time. |
