How to get rid of choppy helicopter noise

hello all, my '17 SS has 1 7/8 in long tube headers & corsa extreme axle back. I'm having this issue when I go from low RPMs to higher RPMS, the exhaust makes a choppy sound almost like the sound of a helicopter. Has anyone else had this issue or how to fix it? thanks

Did you just have the exhaust work done? And did you swap the X-Pipe?

I still have the stock X pipe, my headers & exhaust are after market its also been tuned

I don't have this issue, but I replaced my X-pipe as well.... running 2" TSP headers, x-pipe with high flow cats, and Corsa NPP axle back exhaust. Assume you have NPP exhaust as well? Someone suggested a video which is great. Could you upload that so we can hear?

Sounds like the AFM valves in the X pipe might be "fluttering". I have read a few others having a similar issue.

I think I had heard this issue in the past from other users. Did this exhaust sound issue happen right after you got it installed? It's possible it's vibrating at a certain frequency and possible hitting something underneath. If you can easily get it in the air, see if the exhaust is close to any cross members or anything and see if may be hitting.

I was going to suggest that as well, but was hesitant when he said just the headers and axle back. This happened to me but was more noticeable while driving. Not just cold starting. It really does sound like exhaust rattle though.

I guess when they put the axle back on it could cause the mid pipe to rest and rattle against the cross member brace. In my case I replaced the stock x-pipe for after market and the pipe settles and rattles on the cross member brace. Simple fix shimmy the cross member brace if that is the issue.

So longtubes with corsa extreme?? Thats your problem. You need to put the stock NPP back on. This is EVERY SINGLE PERSON that gets long tubes after having a catback/axleback installed and its just too loud and obnoxious. Put the stock NPP back on and sell the corsa stuff.

Really? That is YOUR preference (and not necessarily OP or others on this thread), and no help to OP to fix the issue. I have the same set up with aftermarket X-pipe, and I enjoy the Corsa NPP exhaust system.
