Gotcha, saw 2015 Camaro SS vs Mustang GT and thought it was in reference to the model years.

I'm a car guy first. The mustang seems like a pretty good package, and I've liked the 5.0 in two trucks so far (Yeah it's tuned/cammed different). They look pretty good and the interiors are pretty great IMO compared to the past. I think the engine philosophy/design is more correct for track work in the 5.0 than the 6.2, not to mention a generally lighter car is better on the track - at least for consumables (tires/brakes). To be honest I'm still nervous to track my stock 1LE, because it runs too damn hot for Texas, and I have a feeling on the bumpy tracks here my 25k mile diff will be an open diff in no time. Not to mention the brakes are not up to the task for the weight of the car. Easy upgrades will fix all that - eaton diff, upgraded coolers everywhere, upgraded brakes, and I'll beat on it. If I do hit up a track day in it's current form, I won't be pushing it like I usually do.
Wouldn't mind having a track pack 5.0 in my garage next to the 1LE, but nah. I feel that I made the right choice. |

I get his regret I had 08 Mustang V6 with 270HP and now have 13 Camaro LT with 323HP. The biggest difference is the quality of materials is striking, worth every penny.
I wonder what made him jump ship, was it a smooth talking salesman? or things that bugged him on his Gen5? As others have said, it's correctable. Welcome back. |

i test drove one and liked it..just fancied a change. as i said american cars dont deprecite here so i wont loose much money.in fact gen 5 camaros have dropped a little in price here.
not rushing into anything..i still like my mustang and will continue to enjoy it..but the camaro is a way better car..may take me a year to find the right car and right deal. in that time i will have enough for a gen6 anyway so may go that route.if they drive as good as a gen5 anyway |

I 100% disagree.
I think the 2016 mustang is a wayyyyyy better looking car than the 2016 Camaro. GM took a step backward with the Gen6 Camaro... Yuck... No offense, guys. Having owned many Mustangs myself, if given the opportunity I would gladly dump my Camaro5 for a 2016 Mustang, cost being no object. I picked up my 2010 for half of the cost for a used 2016 I was looking at, so it was logical. I do enjoy the 5th Gen Camaro's and this is my 2nd 2010 Yellow 2SS I'm on now. But that's not what the fanboys wanna hear...

Yeah. Don't get me wrong I love 5th gens. I sold my beloved Sunset Orange Metallic WS6 to get my 2010 back in 2010. I love them all. I just love Camaro's a little more than Mustangs. I recently sold my 99 Cobra to a guy I'm now friends with. I've owned 3 Camaros, 3 Trans Ams, and 4 Mustangs. The new generation Mustang, in my opinion, is Ford's late answer to the 5th gen Camaro.
On the other hand I will say I'd rather have a ZL1 than a 2016 Mustang so there's that. And we're only talking about a $5,000 difference in price.

OP's 'Stang will be a good buy for some lucky guy if he treated it like his Camaro; I got the impression he spent more time buffing the underside of the floorpan than driving it...
I was in TX last week visiting family and rented a Gen6 V6 (Alamo; no V8 available) I liked it, with caveats - Rear seats are a joke - should offer a delete option. Nice noise when I kicked her in the guts but as I'm fortunate enuff to drive an LS3 I missed the extra grunt. Visibility seemed worse than my gen5. Would I buy one? - even a V8? No; feels too euro. It's trying to be a sports car (and actually making a half-decent attempt at it.

just been out for a 100 mile drive
listen carefully guys..dont part with your camaro for an s550 mustang.unless speed is the only thing you care about you will regret it big time .oh i miss my camaro so much..the mustang suspension is like riding a go cart..harsh and bouncy. imho the gen5 camaro is the best car i have ever driven and ever owned. i have drive many luxery german cars over the years. to me the camaro is king.. i'm still doing some research and looking for mint 2015 camaro ss auto.. |

You wonder how a Camaro is easier to shift than your work truck. Fear no more. Embrace the experience.

It was a toss up for me between a Camaro or a Mustang after I got rid of my 335i.
