Battery Drained & Knock Sensor Bulletin TSB P10284
FYI on recent service issues:
1) Camaro wouldn't start: - trying to start got clicking, ensured all accessories off & in repeated tries you could tell the dash/DIC lights were dimming & key would not come out of the ignition. No time to jump it so I took my wife's G6 to work. - In the evening tried to start again - completely dead in the garage. Luckily the jumper cables I had reached between the Camaro and G6 (otherwise I'd have to manually release the shifter to get the car in neutral to push it out of the garage for room to jump). - Jump-started OK, On-Star was dead (needs time to re-charge/re-cycle) - took it for a drive to allow battery to charge, On-Star came back on next re-start (more on that later). - Brought it in for Dealer Service next day - Battery failed load test with bad cell - test code JQQV90-T9P9J - replaced under warranty. - Only issue prior to this was Bluetooth had stopped working - tried to re-pair and no phone could be paired. AFTER the jump start I was able to pair so weird - probably un-related to battery issue but coincidental. 2) Knock Sensor Bulletin - When On-Star came back on before taking to Dealer asked for Diagnostic - came back with message of Knock Sensor SW issue and On-Star tech indicated there was a bulletin on it - car did sound different at idle. Dealer tech applied TSB P10284 to re-program ECM. My only issues in two and a quarter years - Service Manager said the batteries on newer cars are taking a beating with all the electronics and they're seeing more failures under warranty. Good this happened with 9 months to go / 22,900 miles on initial warranty.

Do like I do, as soon as I bring home a car, I put a battery disconnect on the negative terminal of the battery ( the type with the green knob ) and most of the winter my cars sleep...so I put a small charger/maintainer on each car...my $.02

I agree if storing for winter/long term a battery maintainer is needed.
