Will these actually clear the calipers? Second, assuming I want to stick with 20", the only combo I could find were the Blizzak's @ $260/ea, but the rims were $1,440/ea!!! I couldn't even find the Sport Edition ST4 rims on their site. Am I missing something? If the 18" wheels clear the calipers, wouldn't that be better than the 20's?? Just curious, because I need to make a decision for this winter.
dtodd - I have a 2LT RS which when you use that trim it still shows 20" Blizzak's on the 20" Sport Edition ST4s as an option. If you chose SS as the trim you're presented with either the 18" tires with 25 choices but the 20" tires don't offer up the same choices as the RS 20's - the choice is quite expensive yet the Rim size is the same 20x8.5. Call Tirerack directly to discuss - unsure why you're not presented with the same choices.

BTW - I saw my tires/rims at my Dealer today to ensure they were what I ordered - they're A-OK and the rims look great though too where they're stored was too dark to take a pic.

I also ordered Blizzak LM60 - 245 / 45 /20 and 20x8.5 rims (American Racing Phantom).
I ordered them in the USA because of the fact that in Europe winter-tires of these size are not available (with the exeption of pirelli skorpion ice&snow which are SUV/truck tires).

tjd24 - Thanks for the info. I should probably call Tirerack to confirm if the ST4 rim will fit on the SS.

mas - How much did your package cost?

I don't know the exact original price for the package because I bought at my car-dealer (imports cars from USA). I think the tires, rims and tire pressure sensors were about $ 2.800, but I am really not sure...

I have to pay nearly twice this amount due to shipping costs (to Europe), duty costs and dealer's margin...

Update - Blizzaks/New Rims Mounted

Got the 20" Blizzaks / new rims done this morning - Tire Rack forgot the center caps so they're shipping those to my home. When the Chevy tech started the install he noticed there wasn't a center cap for the first tire - his Service Manager came over & said let's look at the other three. They came with cardboard over the front & back to protect the surfaces. Inside another was the box with the lug nuts/lug nut key (they're locking on all 5 lugs - which is great as the Gorilla locks I had on the RS Rims weren't going to allow for a the lug gun to fit well given the size of the wheel lug hole - unsure if it was just my manufacturer who provides the locking lugs but a nice surprise) and the invoice/warranty guide.

Here's the pics w/o center caps. I like the way the rims look - sorry for the iPhone pic quality - the closer shot is better.

The ride to work was a bit rougher than with the Pirellis though not terrible - I could feel more of the road through the steeritng wheel which isn't too bad a thing most of the time. As its a beautiful day here in NJ, first in many, I'll see how they handle in the rain forecasted for late this week.

Update - received Center Caps from Tirerack the next day Tuesday so that's great customer service.

Hey how do you like the rims? I'm thinking about buying them for my 2LT Red Jewel because I think he 19s that come with the car are too small.

Thanks - I love this rims and think they have more style than the 20" RS rims (plus you don't need to deal with the split size tire issue). I want to see how they look after the Winter and how well they clean-up in the Spring but so far I'm satsified.

Frankly I don't think you'll see much of a difference between the 19" & 20" - see if you can find a local Camaro with 20"s on to park near for a side-by-side comparison.

Over 1,000 miles on them so far - still quiet, great dry and wet traction - I'm delighted.

I was too worried about the 245 width tire on the 9in rim, standard rear is 275. I kissed a curb with my rear tire and it only scraped the tire, anything not as wide wouldent have protected the wheel. potholes are another issue.

The blizzak tires also have a lot of reviews sayin they wear too quickly. Tread depth/wear indicator showing after only one season of driving. I cant see paying 1,100+ every winter for new tires.

i drive 15-20k a year, i run Blizzaks, and I drive my car very hard. I have 3 seasons on my blizzaks and may run them for a 4th.

So if someone is wearing through them in 1 season there are extenuating circumstances that are causing it.

Alignment, running them to long in to the warm weather (they are snow tires, not all season tires, running them in the warm weather will kill them), excessive abuse, and improper use are all reasons that will effect wear.

are you running the higher speed silica or the multi-cell compound ones?

I believe the LM60 is the tire rated for higher speed and is a harder rubber.

I've run them on older cars, (WS50/WS60), but i'm running the LM25's on the GTO. I might upgrade to the LM60 this year, but i could get another season out of the ones i have now if i choose.
