MSI 1" extended length studs for Apex wheels - Who's interested?

Hey folks,

Per my previous post, those of us who have purchased the Apex ARC 8 19x10.5 square setup need 1" extended wheel studs to allow clearance of the 25mm spacer. Problem is ARP is completely out of stock with projected availability being pushed back to August.

I talked with Curtis at MSI and they don't currently have anything that works, but as many of you know they can custom make them. Since they supply most of the major racing series which are all in full tilt, it would take them at least 6 weeks before they'd be able to carve out time on their production line to run these.

Prices start at $15 per stud for a single car set and could go down to around $11.50 depending on how many sets they make.

Thinking I can't be the only guy in this boat and trying to gauge how much interest there might be.
Jim

I just bought a set of 10 .5" extended ARP's with no issue, are the 1" that hard to come by?

Does anyone have any good feedback on the style of spacers that bolt on with stock lugs and have their own lugs for the wheels to bolt on? These could also be an option for you, but I definitely wouldn't buy ebay spacers in this style.

I was considering the motorsport-tech in their stahl steel style for this option to run 20x11 square.

motorsport tech 5mm spacers up front is what I use. ARP extended studs with stock lugs.

The 1" ARP studs needed to clear the 25mm spacer are not currently available.

I have motorsports tech 15mm ordered for the front and 5mm ordered for the rear to correct the fitment of 19" 5th gen 1LE forgestar wheels that I had from the last car.
I have .5in extended ARP studs that is was planning on putting on the front for the 15mm spacers, but the fact you are running the .5in ARP with only a 5mm spacer makes me think I will need 1in studs for the front and .5in studs for the back, do you think you would have enough thread engagement with your .5in studs and a 15mm spacer?

I was planning on running a 15mm spacer with the .5" ARP's in the front, do you think I will be ok the thread engagement? (studs in hand but still waiting on the spacers to be made)

I bought 15mm spacers to use with my 1/2" extended ARP studs and I never ran them because I wasn't comfortable with the number of turns I got. I can't remember how many turns it was, but i could see that my open end lug nuts were only engaged about half way on the threads. I am waiting on 12mm motorsport tech spacers right now.

I have heard that the rule of thumb is 7 to 8 turns for safe thread engagement I have been meaning to count the number of turns I am at with my stock studs and no spacers to be able to compare, my thought was as long as I am at the same amount of turns as the stock set up with my half inch extended studs and 15 mm spacers then I would be safe

I had heard of people running 3mm spacers on the stock lugs so I thought 15mm (0.59") would be ok for the +1/2" studs. Maybe they are, but like I said I didn't feel comfortable with it so I'm going to 12mm (0.47").
