On the Thompson LT1 short block build. Do you have to change the valves and seats to use LT1 heads on a 5.3 or is that a mistype?

I was tempted. Very tempted. You have some expensive parts going in that 5.3. You have already proven you can swap a 5.3 into a camaro and go fast. The overhead of the 6.2 is the difference. Your drop ins and drivetrain is the same cost as a 6.2. You'll RPM higher and use higher boost. I'm very excited to see how far you take it. If I destroy another 6.2, you can use the "told ya so"

Circle D called me yesterday. I sent them my converter to have it loosened up. I ordered the multi disk 3400 stall and could only get it up to 2800. They said the converter itself still looks brand new and they will be changing from the 2D to the 4D to get the stall speed up to where I want it. I'm not sure what 2D and 4D mean but well see.

Picked up a fresh lt4 short block from this guy.
OEM LT4 Crank, rods and pistons. Fresh King main and rod bearings with full thrust surface STD X for 0.001 more clearance then stock. ARP Mains New Total Seal rings and fresh hone. Less than 4K before rebuild.

The short block in my Camaro SS right now is stock with 1500 miles I bought from Carlyle racing last winter, Btr cam, lt1 heads and big .680 Btr springs. It made 847 on 14 psi of boost and just 22 degrees of timing. Not bad so you'll have good luck with the Lt4 short block and room to grow. Just set the rings up with more gap to handle the boost level.

Now my issue is heads. 1. LT4 heads with ICT intake plates to use my plastic lt1 manifold. Will this cause issues? 2. LT1 heads off Ebay. Then buy $1200 manley intake and exhaust valves. laynlo why did you stick with lt1 heads instead of lt4? LT4 heads are around $600 more, plus $200 plates. Im leaning more and more toward lt1 heads. Im not looking to set the world on fire here. The lt1 heads and upgraded valves should be more than fine for ~850 wheel.

Cam Talk.
Previous cam was 221/228 .632 .630 116+6 I'm ordering the LME front cover with the single cam bolt design. A lot of the companies I am talking to are suggesting Cam Motion. They have 4 turbo cams to choose from or a custom grind. https://cammotion.com/compare/366/367/368/370 Here’s what my dyno looked like w the old cam.
