Square Track setup with OEM wheels for daily
Apologies if I missed this somewhere, but I didn't find the answer searching.
I am planning on getting a square 19x11 track setup using the spacers and extened lugs. I assume there is no problem running the stock 1LE wheels using open ended lug nuts? How awful does it look? My plan is after I use up the stock SC3s, likely later this year, to go to a 305/30 19 square setup with the stock wheels having PS4s or something that would suffice for daily driving, to and from the track and wet track time. I'd love to see a picture of how far out that extra inch looks with the stock wheels. Thanks. |

It doesn’t look bad. I don’t think so at least. Check out this video. I’ll try to snap a pic too.

Yeah, I also have longer open nuts on the front. They match the length of the stud so it’s flush nut>stud

I run 18x12 square for autox which requires even longer lugs and 1.5" spacers, but I also run ZLE size w/PS4S for street/rain and OEM for track. No issues, just need an extra-deep 19mm socket.

OMG, an extra half inch of spacer over running 11s! The offset ends up being about 3mm with this setup so no issue at all. The difference in grip vs 11s is substantial though.

Yes, definitely needs a deep socket!
Dave, what tire sizes are you running now? Did you have to get camber plates to fit 18x12? |

You can get MSI wheels studs for a Mustang that are the perfect length, and I got Titan hubcentic spacers for about $70 and removed the studs that came with them. I'm using Vorshlag camber plates and MCS RR2 coilovers. For the OEM struts you just have to grind, exactly the same as in the Apex fitment guide. This setup uses Apex 18x12 et 41 Camaro wheels.

Yep. I run the 285/35/19 re71rs on a 10.75” wheel(11” being widest recommended) and it’s slight stretched. I run a hotchkiss front bar as well. That with max camber I can get , and the tires having stiff shoulders, and during autocross at least I can get no closer to the arrows on the tires then 3/16”. And this combo is faster then with 305/30/19 nankangs that have a softer wall and are slightly pinched being a wide tire
