Replacement for SC3s

Anyone use/have experience with the Nitto NT555 G2s on the track. Looking to go to 315s in the rear for my ZL1 and these look like similar tires to the GYSC3s. Thanks in advance!

I had the NT01s on my Corvette. Great tire, I was just looking for something comparable to the SC3s, that don't break the bank.

I’m sure King will chime in, but here’s my thoughts on what info I’ve gathered from him & others.

Good hooking tire for the street
Decent handling for being more drag oriented.
Tire widths are not as advertised. 305’s fit on factory SS rims, seemingly perfect, so for a ZL1 rim a 325 may be more appropriate. Problem is I went to their site yesterday & their search function yielded no 325’s in 20” rims. Perhaps that is an error.

I use the Nitto NT555 G2s as my daily driver tri-season (and a little snow) and also as my wet track - almost 2 years and 20k miles on them, love them. I use the SC3s on race rims (on 3rd set of rubber) and love them esp for the price. NT555 G2s are 320 tread-wear and different enough IMO from SC3s and any 200 or R compound. I heard there are NT555-G2Rs but hard to find and I gave up looking.

You'll sacrifice a lot of the handling feel moving to the G2's.

Youll go wrong with anything Nitto, these don't hold a candle to the SC3

I doubt the 555G2s will be anywhere close to SC3s on track.

SC3s you found at Tire Rack on the special deal were very reasonable...did you burn through those already?

No, not at all. They are not even on the wheels yet....LOL. Just looking at other options.
