Thanks for the heads up, I picked up a set, with the COVID stuff my current set will last until I switch to winters, but now I will be ready in the spring. You also can double the rebate if you get the GoodYear credit card, so $700, in the end, shipped isn't bad.

saw these... looks like it's not quite the same OE tire we have... must be a slightly different formulation/compound?

deciding if i should buy those up or not... i'm mostly using them up at track days so what's the worst that could happen?

I think Goodyear was only running the two sizes of Supercar 3s in 2017, so probably same OE tires. I can ask my brother, I think the plant he works at is the only one producing Supercar 3s atm. He said they have been making a butt load of them.

I'll share now that I bought a set lol but on ebay there is a shop selling basically new takeoff rears I think 2018 production (maybe also fronts) at $199ea. They are in TX like me so I had to pay sales tax so ran me $432 for rear set so about $50 less than tirerack at the moment.

wow those are good deals on older production... how fast do OE tires harden with age? My experience with dunlop zII's on my bmw was by the third year, they really sucked at the track even though they had like half the tread.

If you are a USAA member, you can get current production Goodyears through a link on their site for a little less.

I just ordered a pair of rear takeoffs on ebay from the place in Tx. $426 shipped, inc tax. I'll report back here when they come in. I still have some life left in the ones on the car, but I did have to plug a screw hole last weekend so their days are numbered.

After some delay and delivery to the neighbors house instead of mine, I got my set from the ebay seller. Tread depth, as far as I can tell, is 7/32 measuring the inside or the little holes in the outside of the tire. The center grooves seems a little less.

Turns out my tires weren't as bad as i thought since these tires barely comes with grooves. lol. Either way, good deal assuming there are no holes. Unfortunately I won't know until it's far too late.

If you're asking about the GY F1 Eagle Supecar F3, I can say that after 1000 miles I've concluded they offer very poor street traction no matter how hot you get them. They are almost unusable, with the possible exception of summer track use. A caveat is that mine is an HPE850.

Drag radials and Michelins are in my future.

I'd say that's an important caveat ... also the fact that you talk about getting your tires hot on the street, you're probably not driving on the street like most people drive on the street.
