Question for those that bought a 2020

I just got a 2020 2SS and noticed the owners manual is just in a plastic bag. No "pouch". Every other vehicle I have bought in the last 25 years has had some sort of pouch.

Is this correct or did the dealer just not give me one?

Nope you don’t get one. My 2010 Camaro SS, my 2016 SS or my used 2017 ZL1 didn’t come with one just a ziplock type plastic bag!

You can though ask the dealer for their folder that you can put your documents in the glovebox. They usually have those to give you for the paperwork with their dealership name printed on it.

Zip Lock Bag for my 2016 and also my 2020. When I bought my 1998 Z28 it came in a nice leather pouch that said Camaro on it.

I took the leather pouch thing from my 2001 z28 that I traded in for the 2016 and use that.

I'm assuming they figure 0.005% of the buyers actually use the owners manual ever. The dollar or two the pouch may cost is better spent on something else like union benefits.

That’s what I’m using in my 2017, a leather pouch thingy that came in my 1998 Camaro SS. I bought one from SLP back in the day but let it go with the ‘98 when I got my 2010 SS.

I have 2018, 2019, 2020 Chevys all with just a plastic bag. Seems they will cut a corner where ever that can.

That said, I couldn't tell you if I have ever used/read the manual(s) in my glove box(s). I downloaded all the manuals and keep the PDF files on my laptop. I find it's easier because I can just word search whatever I'm looking for and find it almost instantly.

Sometime when I'm in the garage, instead of getting out the manual and digging through it, (even though it's right there in the glove box), I'll just ask Google (much faster). I imagine in the not so distant future written hard copy vehicle manuals will be a thing of the past (like printed RPO codes). Many others things we buy now just come with a link to an on-line manual or instruction guide.

Just some thoughts.

Yeah, but he bought a Mustang so that negates any positives.

EDIT: I have owned 5 (07,08, 13, 14, 17)

You should feel lucky, I didn't even get a plastic bag. The manuals were just loose in the glove box.

I got a 455hp 455 LB. Tq 6 speed SS at an unbelievable value unmatched anywhere in the world in 2017. My manual had no pouch. I'm still so so soooo...upset about it..

I agree that I would suspect it going all digital soon but while they are still handing them out you would think they could pony (no pun intended) up the $1 and give us a pouch, especially on a $50,000 car!
