LT2 Intake Purchase

Just purchased an LT2 intake from Gwatney Performance. Paid extra for the modifications so I can literally bolt it on the day it arrives. I will keep everyone updated!

You going to have any tuning done or just bolt on?

So they apparently have some in stock now? I didn't think anyone was getting ahold of this manifold for months.

Question: what is Gwatney do to make it a direct bolt on? I’m assuming if not purchased this way there are modifications to be made? I apologize if this was asked and answered in another thread.

I believe its just "grind" off some of the "ribs" from the molding process on the bottom to provide clearance for the high pressure fuel pump at the back of the engine. Looks like they also drill and tap the manifold for a fitting so you can connect your brake booster up to the manifold. (The C8 is brake by wire, but I thought it still had a brake booster for backup purposes? I guess not)

Really interested to know if this needs a tune. Someone needs to do some wideband logging

Thank you! I may need to add this during my next round of mods.

Same! I want to be sure that it's 100% safe to run this on an otherwise bone stock car on the stock tune. GPI didn't say if it threw any CEL's.

Unfortunately, anytime you deviate from stock settings or parts, a CEL is possible.

GPI is doing all the modifications needed to just bolt this sucker on. Heard they had a large batch come in a few days ago, but have another large batch on order. Basically, just get in line!
  • Brake Booster Fitting Drilled/Tapped
  • High Pressure/High Temp Compatible Fitting
  • Material Removed from Bottom of Manifold for Fitment
  • Map Extension Harness as well

If anyone who orders one can measure how much taller the intake is over stock as I'm trying to see if it will fit under my strut brace.

Thanks!

Yes but all you need is to grind off some of the ribs on the bottom,,add a brake booster fitting and get a map sensor extension. Takes 15 min to modify and around $35 for parts. So more cost effective to modify it yourself.
