The newest GM pump is not a fix. The rotor housing is still powdered metal and is easily broken with minimal force.

We've been developing this pump for months and have beat the heck out of it on the dyno with countless hours of track simulation without a failure. We have pumps going into cars in house as we speak.

Thanks for the explanation Mike.
I will place my pre order on your website right away.

I wish we could produce them faster. These pumps have a honing process with post polishing which takes a little more time.

Does anyone know what the shop rate would be for a straight up replacement for an unbroken oil pump? What would it entail? Is it just a pan drop and replacement, or something much more involved?

8/18 build date? Thats a LT1? Thats the newest one Ive heard of. Pretty late production, I think 19's start building around the same time.

For all those who have had a failed oil pump... were you able to pull over/stop the car in time to minimize damage? Is it usually just the oil pump that needs to be replaced or are most cars getting a new engine & other parts? I want to add a 2650 + other mods & I might take the risk if I only have to replace the pump and not the entire engine. I know its a risky game we play but I'm just curious about others experiences.
Thanks
