Yeah the Titan 1 off the shelf might be my choice.
It’s similar to the speedinc low end but this one specs the 4* phaser. The 109 ICL should help get the torque and opening the phaser 4* prob will stretch it legs to 6800? I wonder what single spring would be good for that? Conical?

oldman, thank you so much for your detailed posts. Such an amazing wealth of information. And wow, it's a lot to consider. Which is why I originally paid somebody to undertake the job. Now, I just wish I would have just done it all myself and would have saved myself 4 grand in labor costs.
Thankfully, the cam is in as is the phase limiter and everything else. I need to verify but, I think I have the stock fuel lobe. Unfortunately, there are a lot of specifics of my build I'm not sure of simply because JRE doesn't have many when you order. I spaced on getting the cam card out of the box with my specs and my installer didn't save any of that for me. ARP bolts were included in the kit so, hopefully, I'm good with all that. I need to double-check if the header bolts were included though. May need a set of those. I do have a complete Stainless Works exhaust/headers setup so, all that is aftermarket. I think I might remove my cats and use the offroad pipes but, still deliberating on that. I'm currently using hi-flow cats. Not sure how much they bottleneck me and the sound. I did order a 13mm hex head 1/2" socket in preparation. And I'm waiting to hear back from JRE on just what they're going to be sending me. I did mention to them I wanted the Johnson 2110 lifters and will need an adjustable rod to determine proper length so, hopefully they'll take care of me and provide everything I'll need.

https://www.compcams.com/valve-spring-chart Also note that 7228 would be close to coil bind at .600 so I'm just using it to illustrate how stiff a conical spring is. I would look at: a PAC spring 130 seat 330 lbs open, that is a beehive TSP dual springs they are designed for more lift so at sub .600 lift they will drop to 375 open, 160 seat is a little on the high side. Don't know what the stock ones are but they are whimpy ballpark 105 seat and 300 open.. Just a guess. So you can see just about any beehive aftermarket is going to be much stiffer, I would look for longevity. GM blue beehive is 90 lbs seat at 1.8" and 295 open .550 For sure I would ask Cam Motion as they would know what works best for their own ramp profile. I personally think more failures are caused by a too weak of a spring in relation to lift, profile and RPM which allows the valve to fall and bounce on the seat. That is why guys are changing springs every 20K or so. Note I think the LT1 install height is 1.9 (forget now) so any 1.8 spring will require a shim under the seat and also be that much closer to coil bind. The Cam Motion kit is here 155 lbs @ 1.780 and 380 @ .600 lift. Just a tad on the high side IMO https://cammotion.com/valve-springs/...ium-retainers/ Still WAY less then the conicals, the smaller of which is not really for .600 lift cams BTW, as the bind is really close IMO.

The PSI 1511's are a great spring and I have yet to hear of one failure reported with them.

They offer a 3 years/36000 miles warranty with this config... Since they use an Optron spin cell they can check valve events and valve bounce and they say this is a very good combination even with the 0.643/0.655 lift their torquer cam provides...(perhaps it has milder ramps, 219/233 118 LSA) I assume I will see, but their engines are roadcourse proof, which is way more stress than drag racing... They just told me to check the springs at 30,000 miles for wear and ideally replace... |

130 seat, 370 @ .625 open looks good, so 355 ish at .594

The LS7 is a factory production lifter, made for sub .600 lift, gentle factory ramps, 7000 RPM and lastly a 300 pound spring.... even the Johnson 2110 is NOT recommended (being limited to .625"). I would add that 3 years / 36K miles is not 100K as my target, So I'll give Katech their due as they offer a warranty on a race engine. Maybe we're talking apples and oranges. Katech is selling a race engine, I and many others are building a 100K mile street engine. I would agree on the check the springs. Probably a good idea at the end of each season regardless of the miles. Also note the spring has a 370 open pressure, which is way less than these trendy conical spring builds at 450 open..... I'd still go with Johnson

I wonder if i go with the Titan 1 I can step down to the psi1510 they are rated for .001 more lift than what is on the intake lobe. That is cutting it as close as it gets, but spring pressure is way down for the sake of the lifter and i will opt for PSIs max treatment on them.

I would go with what the cam grinder says, Even though there are long term wear issues with a stiffer spring, most actual failures are caused by valve bounce or some other harmonic that lets the lifter lose contact with the deceleration ramp. A stiff spring helps on that.

But Katech does their testing And validating on lt4 heads which use lighter valvesthan the
Lt1 heads. Than again PSI are the best springs.

good point, GM was smart to go TI on the intake...

I have seen guys use PSI 1511 on stock cam LS3's with upgraded 1.8 rocker arms all the way up to BTR stage 4 cams. Those springs seem to work well on many different applications. If I am going to run a beehive that is the go to spring.
The Johnson 2110 has been 8500rpm in the 5th gen copo cars so I wouldn't worry too much about going past advertised.
