Does GM at least offer a loan in such cases? I know, it may be a 15-years-old Aveo, but you would think they’d be on the hook for that, no?

From what I've read in the past with other vehicles over the years. It's a crap shoot. Even if they give you a loaner, it'll only be good for at most a month. Most of the time they'll only give you one for a week or so and that's a big if.

Does anyone know what the gm parts delay specialist will be doing with my case differently than my current case manager?
Dang, sorry to hear that. Can I ask the build date of your Z? I have a 2023 (no problems - knock, knock) but is good for reference, just in case.

I'm not sure on the exact date, but sometime in January/February

Look on the sticker in the driver side door sill. It'll be listed as month/year.

That sounds like a bent shift fork to me. It's fairly common when people put aftermarket shifter on the car without the correct stops to prevent this exact thing, but can happen if something is misaligned or out of spec from the factory too. Basically if you hit third gear too hard, the fork bends. I had the exact same thing happen to me on a 2002 Firehawk when I put a B&M shifter in it. My buddy drove it one time, and I told him not to do it, but he powershifted it anyways and bent the fork.

I had it quoted at a trans place and they told me the fix was basically to replace the 3-4 gear assembly as a unit. At least you are under warranty!

Good news! Chevy approved a brand new transmission since there were parts on backorder to fix it. I feel a little better now that I know I'm getting a new one instead of mine getting rebuilt

Yea very good. I was told there were no new ones last July when I waited 4 months. Which is obviously bs as they are cramming new ones in vehicles everyday

What I don't get is how manufacturers can roll out vehicle after vehicle but have customers wait months for a replacement part.

Obviously if they can roll out the same 6 speed transmission across 3 platforms (maybe 4?). Then they can give up a transmission to satisfy a warranty repair.

Glad GM is doing the common sense approach to fixing your car.

Couldn’t agree more. But I also work for a company that if I had to suspect has similar justifications as GM. Ones that at the end of the day make no sense to those of us with brains

Had a long drive today and my 2SS 1LE is having the same issue, 3rd gear it just pops out during acceleration and gives a Performance reduced, reduced clutch use error code. Will take it in tomorrow and see what they say

Welp, dropped mine off at the dealer yesterday for this very same problem. Popping out of 3rd gear under throttle. Transmission guy is on vacation this week, hoping he can get right on it next week.
2023, build date in Feb, 6840 miles.
