Flames out the exhaust

So, I'm no ricer boy but I've been wondering why is it that these cars don't shoot any flames out the exhaust when lets say its an FBO e85 car....

Lets take as an example Corvettes.... Every time i see videos online of vettes they shoot flames out.... I'm NOT referring to the 2-step flames.... but like the back fire flames when you let off gas or when your shifting in between gears....

I've had many cars in all different power levels shooting flames even in 250hp cars.... ofcourse this specific car was a turbo 4cyl which is easier but you get the idea. I'm not even talking about like 3ft flames but you know something.... a spark... i just think when you are gunning it passing that guy and he looks as you pull away and let go.... that little puff just hit em where it hurts even more.

A FBO e85 Camaro puts down 475-490HP to the wheels. I believe it has more than enough power to do this... is it the way the exhaust is that doesn't allow this???

Heck, I have a friend with a 1,000+ HP 6th gen with build motor and even he doesn't shoot any flames.....

Anyone else wonder?

Without flames, winning isn't really winning. Now all there is to do is wait for super technical breakdowns of which I will only understand 10% of.

Is it power related or excessive fuel in hot pipes.

im just guessing but i think its because the car shuts off the fuel when you take your foot off the gas. The fuel shut off can be turned off with a tune

I have an old 8HP push leaf blower that flames out the exhaust when it's shut down. I never considered that to be a positive attribute.

Ive been messing with hptuners trying for the same thing. Nonluck, everything is predetermined and managed by tq and fuel. The 5th gen actually have spark cut options and can keep fuel flowing. Really isnt much room to have fun with this ecu

turbo rices have flames out the back at shift because stock they use a diverter (recycling) valve after the MAF, so the air is already measured and stays in the intake tract post MAF.

They then toss in a BOV to replace the stock diverter, a BOV dumps the premeasured air and this causes the air / fuel to go BUKU rich and walla flames ala ricer. Now there are reasons why high boost cars go to BOVs, but for the most part this is a ricer mod.

I haven't been able to figure out the torque based gen V fueling control either. I've tried looking at the patents, but the way patents are written is just to overly complicate it so it dosent reveal any info. Its kind of like the chicken and egg thing, there is a lookup table for accelerator position vs demanded torque, but then there are tables that are referenced from torque. The best assumption I can make is that the ECU controls the engine with the demanded torque value during certain situations, transmission shift request, torque management, etc.

Yea ive gotten a few pops and crackles but for the most part we don't have enough tables to control closed throttle fueling or spark limiting. The way they control the engine with predicted torque is quite annoying.

Would love to drop the back end and drag it to throw sparks just like a 6-4 Impala

Mine shoots flames from no lift shifts pretty often. I’ve just got long tubes+mbrp catback and a procharger

Ive wanted my car to do this too. Ive seen it on a few C7's, so it has to be possible.
