Those "quick" Camaro's just aren't managing their numbers very well in Southern California. Until we see them laying down the number on a track
"IN PERSON" it's folklore. Lol

Hang your hat on that HP rating hellkitten, it still looks like a cigar box with a brick sitting on top. 5/6 gens are the sexiest girls at the dance, while the hellcat ' just has the biggest boobs '.

Take the hellcat to Nurbugring, or have they? Bet it was slower than the z/28. Does anybody have that info?

The fat cat at Nurbugring? I think they have a minimum tire width rule. The cats miniscule paws won't make the cut.

Weight to horsepower times gearing equals speed. I think the Camaro will come out on top. The hellcat is cool, but the ZL1 is HOT. The hellcat is the 69 Charger R/T of today, except the Charger had at least a little style, more than the hellkitten.

I have a Charger Hellcat. It's great for what it is: it's a large, comfortable sedan with too little tire, too much weight, but surprisingly decent chassis & brakes. I also think it is handsome but of course that's subjective. I think Dodge did a good job on it considering its an older platform and they have to develop products on a shoestring because Fiat is hemorrhaging money in Europe.

That said, I'm sure the ZL1 will be quicker in a straight line. It has a better power-to-weight ratio, bigger tires, and almost certainly more sophisticated launch control & traction control. And of course on any sort of road course the ZL1 will pull away easily, no one will be surprised by that.

Dodge did a FANTASTIC job with the HeLLKitty Twins!!!!
Like you said, they took an outdated chassis and shoestring budget and created a Monster that WE ALL are still talking about.

All of us Chevy and Ford guys should Congratulate Dodge for doing this and speeding up the development of our own New Monsters!

I for one, lived though the first era of "The Horsepower Wars"....I never thought I'd see an even bigger Horsepower War...Then add Vehicles with Ride, Handling, and Comfort! WE ARE BLESSED!

Gotta agree with this. My 71 y/o brother in law has a smaller engine version of the Charger, and it seems to be a genuinely nice car. I'm trying to visualize what his car would be like with about double the power that it has.

Back in the day I was looking fairly seriously at an AAR 'Cuda (having grown up in a dyed-in-the-wool Chrysler Corp family), and I'd love to see FCA re-imagine that car as a serious 1LE / GT350 competitor.

seems people are hung up on the HP of the new ZL1 being less cause of the Corvette. I have a simple fix for this. Since 2017 models are not out yet, why not up the HP of the vette and the camaro. Maybe 675 for the vette and 660 for the camaro. Those would be very doable without much tweeking. At least for the camaro since it looks like it is breathing better then the vette.

This is exactly what I think is going to happen. I'm thinking the ZL1 will get around 660 and the Vette will get a tad more.
