It's a very nice interior. It's actually beautiful. But nothing about it says Camaro. If no one knew better, it could be a Mazda interior, or a Nissan interior. When you saw the interior of the 5th, you knew, that's a Camaro! And that's the difference. Some don't get it. I guess mostly those born after 1985.

Middle of June this year I was able to drive one of the 12 or so SS and V6 cars at Spring Mountain during Chevrolet's dealer meeting at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. We drove them in auto and stick form in both models (no Turbo 4's were there). Gotta say they were amazing handling cars. The claim by the folks manning the event was 50 percent more structural rigidity. Don't know if that will be the exact number, but seat of the pants driving feel was very much backing that up. We had lead cars, so weren't able to 'flog' them, but got a good feel for what they will do. I personally most loved and enjoyed the rev-match, the dashes, power and overall feel of the cars. Wasn't completely blown away but was duly impressed with the improvements and overall feel. It's my belief that the Turbo-4 will gain converts and respect from the tuner/drift crowd and Chev will sell the heck out of Camaros, while the top-end-bad-boy guys and gals will be tickled with the offerings. Not everyone was happy with the '69's, Gen2, etc. or Gen5 when they came out, nor the refresh in '14 - but the cool thing is there's something for everybody.
Bottom line for me is that I just earlier this month purchased my first Gen5, my 55th Camaro (many many '67-'69's) and am loving that platform. Got a 10k mile 2013 LS3 2SS with a year and a half left on factory bumper to bumper, and have added '14 ZL1 wheels wrapped in Michelin PSS's, Short throw, ZL1 Exhaust, a strut brace, will add an OEM intake and splitter, and I will probably own a Gen6, just down the road - after the dust settles and the incentives get good or after someone babies one and I can save 20k. New, old, or still to come - relax, grab gears and carry on! :-) |

The 6th gen looks way smaller than the 5th gen in person.

Could it have something to do with European regulations? I think in Europe the car has to throw the pedestrian over the car rather than under the car.

I haven't seen the 6th gen in person yet but the design is growing on me. Cars always seem to look better in person than in pictures. I wasn't a big fan at initial release.
One thing is for sure, the driving experience will be better than the 5th gen. Lighter and smaller are always better for driving dynamics. Plus....magnetic ride for SS, etc. I'm looking forward to the 6th gen ZL1, Z/28, and 1LE.
