MBRP Vs SW Axleback
I am looking at the two systems and trying to decide which is better. I like the look of the MBRP more but I have heard really great things about the SW system.
I looked at the Borla Atak axleback but it dosent come with valves for the NPP. Will it give an error code or do you just attach the actuators and the computer thinks they are working? MBRP - https://www.phastekperformance.com/M...k.htm?CartID=1 SW - https://www.phastekperformance.com/S...c.htm?CartID=2 Borla - https://www.phastekperformance.com/2...t-11920-xx.htm Any feedback about sound, drone etc. from owners of 1 of these would be appreciated. Thanks |

Just pulled the trigger on the MBRP a few days ago. What sold me is the sound, price, volume, and best of all no drone. Too many pros with the MBRP to spend more on other systems.
Also having black tips is awesome too!

Borla definitely has an ATAK version with NPP valves (https://www.phastekperformance.com/2...t-11925-xx.htm). MBRP is the ones with no valves for NPP

I have stainless works and it's very loud. Valves closed is as loud as valves open in the stock system. I do have headers and x-pipe as well and have some drone around 1800rpm. Not sure if you'd have drone with stock exhaust other than axleback. MBRP has j-tubes to prevent drone but no valves to make it quiet on demand

Borla does offer the valve system like someone stated.
All are great options and you'll be happy with all 3 choices. Just depends on if you're looking for something specific in an exhaust. Contact us with any questions. -Josh |

What is to be gained by going to axle back?

Better sound, usually lighter weight and a small amount of horspower/torque gain.

If you were looking for an axleback with NPP compatibility, we also offer a Competition (#19336) and a Race (#19266) system, which features larger diameter valves. They're available through a number of dealers here on the forum including Meraki!
If you have questions regarding either of these products, please do not hesitate to shoot us a PM or call! |

I have the SW axlebacks, and IMO they are by far the best sounding. Very deep and loud, one of my favorite aspects of the car, really brings out the best of that LT1, just sounds so damn mean. In addition, they look really aggressive, huge tips, and they fill the spaces under the fascia sooo well, better than the other options. A lot of the other ones will stick out in a weird way, but the SW sit nice and flush. Again just my personal opinion. Downside is there is a bit of drone around 2-3k rpm, but you get used to it.

Is your exhaust stock besides the sw mufflers, or do you have headers that cause the drone? Just curious as I'm trying to buy thr mufflers soon.

Again all personal opinion, at the end of the day won't be the same for everyone, but if youre asking me - SW all the way. |
