I will be there to watch, although I may drive the 45th on 1 pass. Here are two videos of my Coupe.

Nice man, I saw your car that night. You actually ran against my buddy in his Avalanche in that second video!

Not sure if I'll make it out this weekend, but I do wanna get more times on the stock wheels before I get some DRs. I'll probably be there at the next TNT in June if anything. You had some good runs though!

Ran a new PB last night at Famoso. Still couldn't hook at all, even with the tires aired down to 25psi. First run of the night I ran a 12.62 @ 112.7 with a 1.9 60' which is my new best. After that I had no traction AT ALL and had to abort almost every following pass.

FYI, the video makes my car sound really loud. I wish I could take the credit, but there was a drag car next to me making all the noise...

Are you using PTM mode 5? or just no TC????
The owners manual recommends PTM5 for the strip...can't wait to get there to see what mine will do...
Nice vids. thanx

Yes, I was using PTM 5 the second time out. The key is the launch, which is also the most difficult on street tires! It was also 91* on the track so that didn't help either.

Did you use Launch Control?

No launch control on the A6, only foot control!

I did foot brake a little to ~1500 rpms, but I need to work on the fine balance of leaving hard vs leaving too hard and spinning the tires.

I hit the track last night too...only my 2nd ever time out there, first ever time out I got a 12.8, but last night was a 12.710 @ 112.71 mph

60' was 2.066 using PTM 5 and Launch control - it's an M6

Interestingly my 1/8 mile MPH on the 12.8 run was higher than my 12.7 run even though my 60' was worse....so must have got a gear shift wrong somewhere I think.

Either way its a ton of fun and I'll be visiting regularly!

My observations...car is very inconsistent, varies widely based upon on air temp, humidity, heat build up, duration of operation, and algorythyms it tries to compute based upon what the driver is doing over a period of time. But, at the end of the day, despite the infantcy of computers controlling our cars and trying to have AI....it's the best ever.

This guy says it best in another thread:

Drag racing an automatic is not as easy as some guys might like you to think. (no offense intended!)

Here is a good post on the KBB website btw:

Launching a 6-Speed Automatic Camaro ZL1 for the Quarter Mile
Without the third pedal, there’s obviously less to think about here, but optimizing an automatic ZL1 for the quarter mile still takes more than simply mashing the gas.
• Select the most-aggressive PTM Mode 5 setting.
• Shift the transmission into M mode for manual. This will make the car start in first gear instead of the usual second in normal D mode.
• Depress the brake pedal with your left foot and, using your right foot, press the accelerator pedal until the engine revs to about 1,500 rpm.
• Release the brake pedal and roll on the throttle. After just 2-3 feet, you’ll want to be wide open on the accelerator pedal all the way through the quarter mile.
While purists might object to an automatic transmission, the proof of how quick an auto can shift is in the numbers. Chevy’s engineers had their best quarter-mile time in an automatic ZL1, running the distance in 11.94 seconds at 116 mph. And regardless of transmission choice, you’ll still have to master the human factor of split-second response if you’re being guided by the traditional ready-set-go “Christmas” lights, as we did at Lucas Oil Raceway. The beauty about the 2012 Camaro ZL1, though, is that it can make amateurs to the track look good, and veterans look exceptional.

I thought I had read a few times that the fast guys are TC and AH off and leaving off idle?
No PTM, no foot brake at the line?

just get a set of drag radials and turn off all the computer controls and these cars wake up. Not bashing it, but the launch and traction controls really slow the car down. heck I saw a ZR1 corvette run a 12.2 @ 123 at the track on thursday. Safe to say thats underwhelming. Stock tires and launch control on that one too.

This. I know that DR's will make a big difference, just want to see how far I can push the stock setup.

Heck, there was a guy that night with a bolt on 12' SS w/ DR's running 12.5's.
