Good seeing a lot of DD Camaros. We could end up with a beater next year. But not planning on it. I like having one available but the wife hates paying insurance on a POS that sits. I have the truck for anything big. We went to Costco Sunday. Put the vert divider down and the big jumbo toilet paper pack in the back seat. We could have fit another TP pack or paper towels too.
The single thing that bothers me most is the volume of salt they use here in Jersey. I looked under the Camaro with an eye towards fluid film spraying the under carriage and wheel wells...Like I did my F-250. But I think not. The felt wheel well liners cover anything I would likely spray. Unless I remove them first. I feel like the felt is going to hold salt water too.
But those things aside its looking to be a fun DD.
I feel a little cramped in the Recaro seats. Almost to the point of messing with my 65 year old back....
We drove a hard top with stock 2SS seats and I liked them better. The wife has wanted a vert for 30 years... and she could not floor the clutch with the standard 2SS seats all the way forward. Yet she is perfect in the Recaros.

2016 SS M6 daily driver just outside DC. Much more remote work these days, but even when it was truly daily, it was fine. She saw snow 2-3 times a year tops, but if you baby it and drive smart you'll be fine. Plenty of salt, just run it through a wash with an undercarriage rinse weekly and it's fine. Modern cars won't rust too easily with basic care. Car is a joy to drive, rev match and the easy shifter make traffic easy enough to handle, and the occasional opening in the road is a blast!

No major issues the only thing I tell people is that it can hard to live with it when it's youre ONLY car every single day, but the smiles per mile are pretty great, too.

Yeah, I agree. If we didn't have my wife's Honda CR-V, I'd have to rent a truck or SUV every now and then. Great to have both.

I DD my 6 speed SS about 11 miles each way since Dec 2016. I live in south jersey.
Personally I think snow tires are overkill for Jersey, but to each his own. I run all-seasons.
Only issue I had was excess wear on the front rotors causing pedal pulsation. This happened twice until I changed out the stock semi-metallic pads for ceramics.
With the short commute you may run into battery recharging issues. Also the engine is not going to fully warm up (thermostat will not open) when it is cold out (like now). But if she doesn't drive it hard and it is only 2 years you should be fine.

2 wheel rear drive cars suck in the snow regardless of who made it. I see them struggle all the time around here when it snows.

then you have a lot of terrible drivers and cars without snow tires in your neck of the woods.

well, was starting to use too much oil - so I had the engine pulled. New pistons and rings, valve train replaced, new cam, .. all going great so far. Been 1.5 months and about 6000 km since the install.

I drive 2020 vert on average 500+ a week and average 22-23 miles per gallon if I keep my foot out of it. Just did a 800 mile trip to GA and was actually very comfortable. Its ashame the seats dont recline back as far as they did in my Gen 5 1LE.

Why is it hard to live with?

So you ran it to about 197,000 mi. before the rebuild? Any power loss before the rebuild? Was it smoking?
