I went on and ordered one Monday. Email said they would let me know when it shipped. Haven't heard nothing yet.
Stuff like that always makes me leery.
Oh well....

I received a response. I ordered mine 4/20

Hello Brian,
Our current lead time is 5-11 business days rather than the 5-9 due to an influx of orders along with our involvement with the production of medical supplies.
With that being said, your order is scheduled to finish its production cycle by 5/4 and will be shipping out with our 5/5 shipment.
Whenever it is ready to ship, I will provide a tracking number.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Best,
Tamir Dagan

They were very cool and professional with me about communications but it definately arrived a little later than anticipated.

I concur. Tamir and Dan also provided information on my order along the way. This is a niche product and made to order.

It’s pleasant to know they are also helping the medical community in this time of need. Having friends and family in my circle that are first responders and seeing Velossa help, is good business. Apparently they are working to maintain their standard product line.

I find it hard to believe the Velossa scoop is going to provide significantly more gain than just removing the intake tract cover. You're still getting a ram air effect with the cover removed. Save some money and just remove the cover.

Hello, nice to be here guys!

Sorry for any delay you may have incurred. We have been making medical supplies for hospitals around the country. We started about 2 weeks ago and it has slowed us down a bit, but there is no one in the south florida area able to put out the volumes we are able to at such short notice. So we volunteered to do it and make visor crowns.

Also do note that removing the stock blocking plate is not going to be enough to recover dynamic pressure. If the air is moving at a high velocity and needs to change direction but has no guidance, you will loose a ton (if not all) dynamic pressure. Direction change (momentum change) is avoided in ram air intakes when you can. But if you do have to make a direction change, it is best done with a flow path designed for minimal pressure drop (avoiding flow separation on ID curves, keep cross sections constant etc...). Flow path design is a fine line between success and failure, ask anyone who know how to port heads

Here is the test plan and results that were performed by a 3rd party tuner.

I think you guys will like this

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEST RESULTS
Scope: To capture real-world data and capture efficiency metrics.

Test Parameters:

Test Date: 3/19/2020-3/20/2020
Test subject: CCNC
2018 Camaro ZL1 A10
Roto Fab Big Gulp
Flex fuel kit (E41 during test)
R88R’s
PCM/TCM Calibration (did not change calibration for testing)

Test Procedures:

Perform 5 minute idle log (closed loop) and record highest temperature from IAT1.
Perform 5 minute drive and record average temperature from IAT-1.
Perform 2 minute idle log followed by smooth acceleration to 40mph and record time to cool (target was OAT or below).
Perform 10 minute city drive and record average reading from IAT-1.
Perform hard acceleration from 0-100mph and record time to cool (OAT or below) following pull.
Perform hard acceleration from 40-120mph and record time to cool (OAT or below) following pull.

Test Environment:

Tests were performed using HPTuners Scanner and Monitoring IAT-1 data. Tests were conducted pre-install and post-install utilizing the same exact procedures and routes.
Pre-install test was performed 3/19/2020 from 3:45PM PST-9:45PM PST.
Outside air temperature was 59 degrees F. Humidity 75%. DA 510 feet.
Post-install test was performed 3/20/2020 from 3:45 PM PST-9:47PM PST.

Outside air temperature was 59 degrees F. Humidity 76%. DA 527 feet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't forget that air pressure increase with the square of vehicle speed, having the engine pull air pressure from a greater than ambient condition is where you can increase power, small changes in inlet pressure have a huge effect on power as you may know if you drag race below sea level or above sea level.
Hope this helps.

Best,

D

Damn fine looking masks guys. Keep up the good work. I'm a respiratory therapist (40+ years). Survived H1N1, SARS, MERS and so far Covid19 (all corona viruses BTW). Never even converted positive for tuberculosis exposure due to good PPE like you guys are cranking out. Believe me, we appreciate the effort.

Thank you. And thanks for my Velossa Tech BIG MOUTH, it works and sounds great!
